Update for 7/31/10

Had an iced coffee, water, and then split a diet soda with the hubs....I counted points, cooked dinner (yummmm, broccoli cheddar soup!) rained activity except walking around Sams Club and snacking, and I've made my list for our trip so that we can do some shopping tomorrow!

For tomorrow:

  • Limit to one cup of tea/coffee for the day. Otherwise water.

  • Count points for the day
  • Cook dinner at home and…

So this morning, I got up late and was feeling especially lazy, made a choice not to run, i had done three days in a row and figured, what the heck. No More Grease (i hope...)

I started this now 2 and a half weeks ago, and I haven't really eaten anything greasy since then. Yesterday was the exception, when I had a bbq and ate a hot dog and burger. I figured it wouldn't be too bad, since I hadn't eaten many of my points so I could 'afford' it. Well I guess my body thought otherwise!!

OMG it's been a long time since I last blogged here!

Gained some and am losing again but have 40 lbs to goal.

Still running/walking and working my way to 1/2 marathon.

Just bought a Wii too and hoping to have fun on that on my non running/recovery days.

Staying focused on fitness when you have an overweight partner who doesn't want to exercise can be a challenge. I have refocused and am setting goals for myself to maintain that focus. I can't aford not to strive for health. Heart disease is common in my family and…

The week ends are difficult

Is it just me? Sometimes I feel like I am the only person who feels the need to eat all of the rhubarb and blackcurrant tart a brilliant cook brings to our house, then eats half of it later that night, then gives away most of what is left, yet what is still left in the cdupboard is calling- "Eat me Lorna and start again tomorrow". 7 lbs in a month & new recipe

I wish that I was reporting that I lost 7lbs in a month. Sadly that isn't the case. On July 2 my weight was 175. Yesterday it was 182. I weighed in every week, but yesterday seeing that 7lbs really shook me up. 1 to 2 lbs doesn't seem so bad. But when it happens weekly it really starts to add up. Focus and Failure

I'm nearing the end of 6 weeks of almost complete focus on my weight loss and fitness efforts. By focus I mean obsession. It's all I think about. I am constantly planning meals, reading books on the subject, working out or talking about losing weight. Holy Crap! July is OVER?!

Well, time flies when you're having fun! Fun, in my case, stripping wallpaper, scrubbing glue off of 110 year old plaster. ( if THAT isn't an appetite supressant!) We managed to squeeze in a camping trip last week. Probably my only 'vacation' for a while. Two mortages and supplies to make the new place liveable DO take their toll. So, anyone looking for a house, in Ohio? :) As far as losing weight, more like lack thereof, i'm holding my own. Way to much nibbling on junk. WAY too much " heck…

Hooked on a Feeling

What a great day yesterday....good friends a little bit of sun and an evening out. I splurged a bit last night.....but I actually took the time this morning to write it all down. It felt good and I realized it wasn't that bad. And we had so much fun so it was totally worth it. That's a good feeling.

It's All in the Planning

I'm going to spend part of my morning planning out what I'm going to eat this weekend since we're going out of town. I have a tendency to overdo it when it comes to celebrations, like tonight's wedding reception/huge blowout party. We are going to lunch at Texas Roadhouse. Letting go and moving on

I watched Usher's Behind the Music yesterday on VH1 and "Confessions" suddenly popped into my head right before I logged in. I'm not a huge Usher fan, but I felt compelled to DVR the show about a week ago...bored I watched it yesterday. Kind of interesting...especially the part about him and Chili.

First we recap today....(skip if you don't want to hear the details...this is more for me to remember how I did) :-) Work was brutal! I was worn out when I got home. I did well with the one cup of coffee and I drank a lot of water, but I did get an unsweet tea when I went out to get lunch (yes, bad me did not pack my lunch). Tried something new today...ZUMBA!

Wow was it fun. I was a little worried about the intensity but I was so distracted by how much fun it was that I hardly noticed! I highly suggest Zumba to anyone who loves to dance. I know I will be hurting tomorrow but I'm definitely going back for more.

One more step on my way to finding new and fun interests that give me a natural high, that help me live in and enjoy the moment!

"people of exceptional size"

I researched online and found out that the amusement park definition of "people of exceptional size" is anyone with a waist larger than 40" and anyone with a chest larger than 52"....well, in the chest area i guess i'm good cause my mother didnt bless me THAT much....but the waist size? yea...i measured myself today and i am about 41" i'm technically 1 inch from being i guess "unexceptional" but i dont want to get all the way to an amusement park to ride to roller coasters just…

Quick update!

Quick update as I'm heading out of town for the weekend (I'll post a lengthy update on Sunday when I get back- I realize I've been MIA!).

#1- Maintained last week. Least I know when I'm being "bad" and not tracking I'm actually able to maintain.

#2- Loved my trip to Disneyland with the sister. At HORRIBLY, but also got in tons of walking. End result this week was a loss of 1.2 pounds.

#3- No news on the job front. :/

Ahhhhh....Feeling Good

Yesterday I finally felt moved in since I got the last of the boxes unpacked. We still need to go through the storage stuff in the garage to decide what to keep and what to toss, but in reality we are moved in! I can't wait for the last of the furniture to come in so that I can make it official. Having our bed and a dining table would be great :)

We officially checked out of our apt today. It was bittersweet. We loved the leasing office people there and we were sad to say…

Bah humbug!

So I had a gain this week, a freaking gain! I have journaled everyday, and started running again, love this reward for all my hard work. I told my leader I was frustrated and I think she knows me a little too well... She asked if I was dipping into my activity points since I started running again, of course the answer was no.
