I did my 3 mile run tonight and totally peed my pants. How disgusting? I just can not hold any amount of fluid in my bladder. They say kegel exercises help, but who has time or thinks about doing them. It just sucks. Good thing it was getting dark and I don't think anyone could tell that I was totally wet down there and I was wearing dark loose shorts. If anyone has any advice, I will gladly take it. I think I better talk to my ob next time. I also can not jump on the tramp with my kids. My… Continue

I am 16 weeks pregnant today and I got a comment that most pregnant women probably don't hear. A friend looked at me and said, "You have lost weight!" Well, I have, but I also have a big belly already. It's my 2nd child and I started showing a lot sooner with this one. I've lost weight since becoming pregnant because I've been eating better, but how is it that I have a pregnant belly yet a noticable weight loss? My next OB visit I'll be about 19.5 weeks and I finally get to find out what's… Continue

My worst time of day....after dinner, while watching TV, before I go to bed! So far so good with my eating today. I just had dinner....and what a de-lish one it was! Tilapia with dill, pepper and mustard cooked in the microwave in one of those steamer ziplock backs. Then some roasted cauliflower. Yum! For dessert a sugar free fudgsicle.
I am on track and will not much for no reason. I will have some popcorn or a sugar free popsicle. :)

I often wonder how I got to this point and I know that sounds "typical". Extra weight has always been an issue in my life. I look back a old photos of myself and think....I want to get back to THAT size again. And then I remember the days when I was THAT size. I thought I was HUGE. What a joke now! I was the chubby kid. Then I was the pre teen that looked a little too old for her age. Then came those high school days when I was told that "You would be so pretty if you would just lose a few… Continue

I went to the bookstore yet again. I went to pick up You on a Diet that I've been reading. I couldn't find it, so I picked up some other books. I happened to stumble across a book about insulin resistance. Now I don't understand it completely, but I know that insulin resistance is part of a condition I have called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. As far as I understand, the problem with my body is that it produces too much insulin. Insulin is responsible for taking glucose and turning it into… Continue

So this week has been pure hell. And I mean in SO many facets of my life. I'm trying hard not to make this a long whiney post...but forgive me if it gets so!
has been extremely busy, and morale is still very low. You can only work for a company for so long, and watch them send more and more work to Brazil or India before you really begin to question WHY you're still there? It seems to be only a matter of time before we're all gone and all the work is done over… Continue

I went for a run this morning and felt like I was dragging a team of NFL players behind me. Better yet, it felt more like I was piggy backing all of them, all at the same time. My legs were like lead! I was sooo slowww. I could have walked faster, I'm sure of it. I'm blaming it on my lower body workout at the gym yesterday and having some pretty serious stomach pains before the run. They eased up while I was running but I still felt low on energy. Don't you hate when you get psyched up to go… Continue

Hello Everyone! I just want to say that I want a change in my life! I'm so sick of focusing on my weight and my looks. It's time to focus on health. I feel like if I can do that, I can change my life for real this time. I am sick of being on diet after diet. It's time for a change and I am going to make it!! Anyone with me?

I'm an official C25K graduate -- as of this evening, I've completed the 9-week program that culminates in three 30 minute runs during its last week. I'm happy and proud (... and sore!) What next? You should check out my other blog
in the next day or two for updates :)

I've been home for a few days now and things are settling in. Hitting the grocery store was one of the top things on my list to make me feel more at home. I am actually VERY excited to be back on track and eating my old favorites. Who knew I would miss the healthy food while I was gone?
One of my favorite things since I've been back...fruit! Don't get me wrong, I had fruit there--nice, very fresh fruit. I had mango, papaya, pineapple and banana. While I like all of these things, I… Continue

So, today my eating has been great. Coffee and a banana for an early morning snack. Then quinoa salad (I'll have to post the recipe...it's YUMMY!) with a low fat chicken sausage. Then later I had a cup of berries with greek yogurt. I'm off to work...will post dinner later...

The husband signed up, and now I am addicted too! It is so much fun. I put in my old schools and now when I type in people's names to search for, people I actually know pop up! I even 'friended" a girl I went to college with whom I have not spoken to in 7 YEARS. Funny how time passes so quickly!
Today's eating is going well. The MIL called this morning to plan a trip to the local pizza/game place with the kids, since our neice is visiting at the moment. I decided to make my filling 1… Continue

It seems that the only time I ever post on my blog is each week when I weigh in......sheesh. I don't know why I do that....just busy I guess.
So anyway, I had a really good weigh-in last night, for me being so close to my goal. I lost 1.2 pounds, for a total of 84.6 pounds in 51 weeks. I have 7.8 pounds to go, to get to my WW goal, which is the top of my healthy weight range, and then once I'm made Lifetime and have gone through the 6 weeks of messing with my points to see how many I can… Continue

Sleep has definitely made a huge impact on how I feel today. My day is only about half over right now but I've already made it to the gym, have gotten food squared away for a healthy dinner after work, and have finished all of the homeschool prep stuff that I had wanted to do. YAY me!
It's going to be a day to day thing. For instance, I realized that I forgot to bring my water jug with me when I left the house this morning so I know I won't be getting in my water. The up side was a… Continue

The boyfriend's mom made chicken and noodles and mashed potatoes for dinner last night ... classic Midwestern comfort food. I didn't go hog-wild — just a couple spoonfuls of each, along with 2 1/2 skinless chicken legs — but it was probably still more than I needed. And I had a container of light yogurt and a mini-bag of microwave popcorn as a late snack. (I haven't looked up Points values yet. I know I should, though.)
This morning, I had 3 Points for breakfast ... unfortunately it… Continue

So far today is going really well.
I've used 9 points so far today, and am planning a healthy dinner of fish and spinich salad. I don't know the points on it yet, but will checking it out when I get home...but I am fairly confident that I can have supper for aroun 8 - 10 points which leaves me some room for some grapes, after my workout. I've also drank 1.5 litres of water so far, and will drink another .5 before I leave work today.
I am going to do Day 3 of Week 5 tonight… Continue
