June 30, 2016; back at it!

Got up at 6 today, did a 30(ish) minute workout on YouTube from a channel called The Body Project. It felt challenging without being entirely overwhelming. Feels good to have exercised! Part of me feels like I'm ready to challenge my body more. I've been completing beginner workouts for the most part, and while I'm not in shape by any means, I think I could up to intermediate or some higher difficulty. Maybe I'll experiment tomorrow!

First 3 Days

My first 3 days at the new job have been wonderful.  I feel welcomed, appreciated and included into the team dynamic.

I have packed my lunches all week and stayed on track.  The only exception is that we are on summer hours which means 4x10 and Friday's off.  Getting into the swing has made exercise almost impossible.  I should get that worked out by the weekend and next week will be good.  I usually takes a week for the body to adjust; always does.

Post absence

So, I find that my stick-to-it-tiveness has left the building and as I flit from diet to diet and fitness regime to fitness regime I am chronically stuck. I watch all these success stories on tv etc and find myself weighing in and losing ground or not making any progress.  I am clearly frustrated but I am going to really try to blog and detail a journey whatever that may look like when I am done.  I need to drop about 20 pounds and get my cholesterol and blood pressure down a bit so…

June 29, 2016; quick check in

I went to the lake Sunday/Monday. It was a nice time. Too much food, too much wine, friend time, and being away from it all. The only negative is that I got sunburned on Monday! I should have known it would happen; my skin hasn't been exposed to the sun much this summer. UGH. So I have been braless the last two days when possible- haha!, which means no morning workouts. The Story of the Optional Uniform

I've had a great week ladies and I can say that I am ready to start the new chapter of my story tomorrow morning.

I purged the closet of "optional" uniforms this week! Probably the most satisfying task thus far. I think it felt so good, because it was one of the most humiliating thing .... among many that my former boss did to me during my tenure.

June 26, 2016; going to the lake!

Got my 25 minute low impact workout in this morning! I wasn't panting by the end, but I was sweating and felt worked. Just enough for what I'm trying to accomplish right now...which is to establish a routine.

June 25, 2016; almost didn't again...but I did!

I'm on my period. I'm warm. I wanted a shower this morning so badly. We ate pizza AFTER eating dinner last night. There were a multitude of things my mind decided were reasons to not work out this morning. BUT I did. I did a 15 minute free weights routine, 5 minute ab video, and a little bit of stretching. Now, I feel great!

Weekly Update - 6/25

Weight - Down 0.6 pounds. Something is better than nothing.

Exercise - Ran 19 miles. Biked 14.7 miles

Food - Ugh! Too many snacks. Good choices, but too much is too much.

One Day...

Just sitting outside on this cool morning with my coffee thinking ... Self-Care Days .... 4 & 5

Day 4 of self-care week ....

Youngest son and I went and donated 14 boxes of books to our summer feed program here locally.  Yes, for the the district that I am leaving.  We have 4 buses and 6 trucks that go out into the community and feed children all summer long - breakfast and lunch.  We put the books on the vehicles and allow the kids to take what they want and encourage reading.

Afterwards we went to game stop and picked up a Wii game called Just Dance and…

June 23, 2016; morning workout with husband!

Last night we were watching TV and my husband asked me if I was going to workout in the morning. I said, yes. He said, "I should probably start doing that, too" I was surprised because he bike commutes to work and I've always considered that his built in exercise for the day, but I guess he wants a little more! It felt so much more motivating having him there. We did a free weight/cardio 20 minute routine from HASfit and then while he showered I did a 5 minute ab routine.

June 22, 2016; mobile baby=tired mom

Yesterday was nuts! Finnegan has been on the move for a while now, but it seems this past week he has kicked it up a notch! I feel like I'm hardly able to get the basic things done around the house, and I'm certainly not making progress on any projects I want done. In spite of that, I've managed to workout in the mornings and it feels great! Nothing super over the top, but it gets me moving and helps motivate me throughout the day. Self-Care Week...making progress

On Day 1 of Self-Care week - I did a little clothes shopping .... since scrubs aren't a required part of my dress code starting next week and all I have are running gear and scrubs, I needed a little closet makeover for sure.  I'm going to say its a little unnerving to go shopping for clothes when a) you are 5' tall;  b) overweight and c) you haven't had to have an actual wardrobe in your closet in 6 years.  I have managed…

Stressful Day

I had a real sh@t day. When I moved to Wisconsin I found a job & went to work. I knew it was a bad fit but not being a quitter, I have stuck it out. Many times I thought of quitting & finding something else but life kept getting in the way & that don't give up attitude kept me there. It is now the time to make changes. Dinner time

I'm always looking for new recipes--specifically ones that the whole family will enjoy. I like recipes that have normal ingredients (and preferably not too many) and that don't take forever. June 21, 2016; good morning

Another morning workout complete! I did a 15 minute low impact workout and then followed it with an 8 minute ab workout. Feels good to have that out of the way in the morning!

 I have a pretty regular routine for my morning. I eat 2 egg white, 1 whole egg, a piece of Ezekiel bread, and fruit. Then as a morning snack I have a handful of almonds and string cheese. June 20, 2016; almost didn't, but I did

I almost didn't workout when I got up this morning. I thought, "I'll just workout when the baby naps..." but I snapped out of it because I realized by doing that I was setting myself up for a more stressful situation and I would probably find a way to put it off longer. So I got up, did a HASfit workout, showered, and am now in a better position! Feels great.
