Whole30 --- Day 30!!!

OMG, I made it!  I have completed something.  I have gone the distance.  Whoot Whoot!

Food choices these last couple of days have stayed withing the platform of Whole30 and Paleo.  Tomorrow, I start the reintroduction phase of the program.  Adding in the food groups that have been eliminated the last 30 days.  One group at a time.  Then wait 4 days to see how the body reacts before adding in the next one.  Once I finish that…

ok should have came home after church instead of going out to eat....was extremely tired up for 30 hours with only about 2 hours of sleep....choose very poorly at restaurant ( all fried meal...enough said) felt sick before we left the restaurant....had a turtle sundae at DQ.......Now it is 5 hours later I feel....blah.....don't dare go for a walk, don't trust the gut yet, sure it will all come out soon.

Birthday Reflections

Thirty One.  I had big plans for my thirties.  I wanted to be thin and happy.  As if those two things could only happen in conjunction with each other.  I am learning it is much more about HEALTH.  If I feel healthy, if I am not too stressed, if I take the time to enjoy life, then I'm going to be happy.  

This past year I've started running 5ks, I'm being more social, I'm eating more fruits and veggies and slowly getting rid of processed foods.  So, even if the scale isn't…

Perhaps if I stick around for more than a blog post or two I'll finally be successful and STAY successful?  I am up and down on the scale, that much is consistent.  What I want is to be down down down...I need to get to the gym, and keep tracking my points.  I wonder why I didn't turn to BTL when it got rough?  I need this community, you people who are striving to do the same thing I am striving for...I'm making the effort.  I hope you will continue to support and offer your friendship!

Firsts. And Lasts.

Last 2 weeks of the challenge

The heat is on. I have 2 more weeks of my self imposed 30 day challenge. I have not had chocolate in 2 weeks. I am limiting my dairy consumption, and eating more wholesome foods. Veggies, fruit, whole grains - which has only been brown rice so far, beans. I've been feeling better and I lost 1.4 pounds, but am not sure if it is just fluctuation or a "true" loss. WDW Recap, and A Return to Normalcy

Just got back from Walt Disney World and we had a blast!  We were on the Disney Dining Plan, and I've got to say that thing is evil.  There is SO MUCH FOOD on that plan.  I gained almost 10 lbs from the trip, even though we were walking probably 10 miles a day.  Craziness.

Whole 28

Getting closer and close to the end of this 30 day challenge.  Yesterday was a great day for food choices and movement.   The top of my thighs were a little sore from Karate the night before.  My upper body is sore from the push-ups we had to bang out as well.

Breakfast was inspired by Paula and consisted of:  Apples, Sweet Potato, Banana and Coconut Flakes.  I boiled the sweet potato and sauteed the apples in coconut oil with some cinnamon.  Once the sweet potatoes were cooked…

WW points in check

Halfway through my WW tracking week..I'm keeping my points to 26 - 32...:) try to remember to choose veggies once in awhile for my snack instead of something with points, has helped this week....But I'm doing major physical activity so I am earning points....have to try to keep the mindset, JUST BECAUSE YOU EARNED ALL THESE POINTS DOESN"T MEAN YOU CAN EAT WHATEVER YOU, we plan to go out for lunch on Sunday & DQ, so I need to save my points.

Since joining NS in January I have made a lot of progress, I have never really done a diet before. My mother always tried to force them on me when I was a teenager but with her lack of follow through and my desire to have some kind of control over my life they never lasted very long. It was my first time I was truly trying to lose weight and get healthier. I did great in the beginning and followed the plan, I lost the weight nicely and consistently.

I did it!!

I went home and completed the three miles I said I would! I did have to stop and stretch because my calves were EXTREMLY TIGHT! But after each mile I stretched and then continued! Each mile I got faster and felt accompanied! Tonight I will do 3 miles again along with arms. Any suggestions about arm routines are totally welcome!!!

26 & 27 of Whole

Have had a great two days.  Meals were on target and followed the format of Whole30 and Paleo.

Wedding Invitations

I cannot wait for my wedding to be here and done.  I am excited to get married.  Greg and I have been together almost 8 years so I think it is about time.  :)  Right now I'm thinking that we should have eloped.  I am not enjoying these invitations.  One of my bridesmaids suggested printing out all of the addresses onto labels and just sticking them on.  I thought... I decided in January that I was going to be making some big changes to my life. I finally wanted to get rid of this disgusting weight I have put on over the years. Summer Camp

Summer is here. I'm working at a camp so that is allowing me lots of movement throughout the day! I've been packing healthy lunches and snacks so I'm feeling good. I want ( scratch that!) Gotta love that water weight.

Every time I start working on losing weight again, the first week is AWESOME. In 4 days I'm down over 6 pounds. OBVIOUSLY I've not burned that many more calories than I have eaten (the actual total deficit is 8,903), but eating salty crap causes me to retain, so I really like the first week.

Having said that, I'm looking at 2.5 pounds of FAT gone, at the very least. And this is a good thing as well.

setting and moving goals

I'm really struggling with getting my weight back down to goal.  On the bright side, my clothes do fit.  On the not so bright side, I am having to pay each week at WW.  One tiny part of me keeps saying, "you should just bump up your goal weight by a few pounds--you've probably just added muscle".  However, I'm concerned that I will be starting down a slippery slope with that attitude.  I know that I like to bump up against boundaries.  I also know that the roll on top of my tightest pair of…

A few days later...

A few days later and I am just a little bit sore from Killer Buns & Thighs. It is quite a workout and I hope that it gives me the lean thighs it says it will. I feel it all the way through my lower back. Another area that needs work. Been doing really well with eating. No chocolate & no back slide on that one either. Must change mind set

well that title is easier said then done...
