I have gotten up 3 AM's in a row and walked. This AM, I was so tired that I slept in. Just not a good day as I had when I walked. Seriously, it can happen that quick? Man. So I just finished walking, I do feel better, but I think I need to start doing it in the AM from now on--1. because then its done and I don't not do it and 2. my day goes better. who would have thought.

I've finally reached that light at the end of the tunnel. All of my big projects, papers, tests, etc are over with. I have one remaining exam- an open note law exam that is repetitive of my undergrad environmental law course, so no biggie. Aside from that I'm finished.
Eating has been waaaay off. I'm doing my best and that's all I can expect. Now that I'm not scrambling I can already tell I'm getting back on track. I'm making chicken enchiladas tonight from my cooking light cookbook.… Continue

I was walking with my friend to her car when BAM! We nearly got hit by lightning. It hit a light pole directly above me. Soooo scary. The electricity was grounded by the parking lot, but some electricity must have gone through my shoes. My foot closest to the light pole still burns. It feels exactly like I put my foot in a socket. HA--that was nearly a pun!
Anyway, I came home and wasn't paying close attention to what I was doing--my mind being distracted. I am frustrated,… Continue

It's been 47 days since I have had any soda I started out drinking 6 bottles of water a day and now I have one of those 32 oz nalgenes. I measured it and 3 nalgenes is 6 bottles of water. But today I am already almost done with my 4th nalgene and will prob finish a 5th before bed. Is that way to much water? I normally only drink 3-4 a day.
On another topic last night ended VERY badly. On my way home from work I went to Culver's and got two orders of cheese curds and then went to… Continue

Okay - here it goes - the first post of my blog. That sounds really funny to me since I never thought of myself as a person who blogs. I read a few blogs but never thought I would have one myself. Thankfully Roni has made this so easy that I thought WHY NOT! I am hoping it gives me accountability and a forum to just talk out loud. The main reason that spurred this decision to do this has been my 39th birthday. Celebrated a few weeks ago I've had a few weeks for "39" to settle in and to think… Continue

It has been a long time since I have blogged. Not sure what drew me to logging on today, but it is good to be back and reading everyone's inspiration. Life is crazy as always. I have been maintaining my WW liftetime status going on 2 years in July. I am re-motivated to lose 15-20 lbs more. More for myself. I want to prove to me that I can do it. I have been doing a boot camp for the last 2 months and love it. It is a very challenging workout and I love every minute of it. I also started… Continue

I seem to have major issues when it comes to over-consumption. My problem is that if it's there, I'll eat it. Simple enough solution, right? Don't buy the junky snacks and meals.
While it's fairly easy to do that at home, I am about to start a summer job... at my parents' dairy bar. See the problem? All the ice cream I can eat (plus chips and Pepsi, too...) Thankfully, we don't serve deep-fried food or I'd be in over my head (and over the waist of my pants.)
I'm trying to… Continue

Ok, here is my everyday problem.... Like I already told you guys, I am a live-in nanny of three, so it happens, that I cook the kids lunch and dinner, unfortunately they don't eat anything, must of the things they don't like, so I am going from mac &cheese, to chicken nuggets, to smiley faces, pasta and back to mac & cheese...horrible...so the problem is, sometimes they have laft overs, so instead of just throwing in the trash, I take a fork full here and there...And while I am eating… Continue

...because, well, it is, finally, a good morning! and good morning to all :)
i'm so sorry for all the self-loathing and awful posts... when i created this blog, i tried making a promise to myself - never have a negative post... i mean, some things could be negative, but there HAD to be something positive mixed in... well, lately, i just haven't had anything positive to say...
but i, for the first time in quite a while, i feel great this morning... maybe it's because… Continue

Got to work and hit the fitness center first thing. Better than coffe to start the day in my opinion.
Did the machines for a bit 3 sets two exercises for chest. Forgot to do crunches and pushups again *sigh*
Ran on the treadmill calves still hur but went a bit further this time. The wireless headphones helped a ton just put my phone on the treadmill and pump my arms like I should.
Feel pretty good now not like last week where I could barely walk

My name is Elle. I am 23 years old.
I am 200 lbs on the button.
I'm poised to graduate with my Bachelor of Education in a few short weeks. This will be my second degree. I find myself asking the mirror how such a smart girl cannot manage to lose weight.
Here's my story:
I was a healthy 120 - 140… Continue

Wow looking at the calendar it just occurred to me that April 28th is my 3 year anniversary of joining Weight Watchers. Hard to believe it was 3 years ago I walked into that door at the highest weight of my life hoping for a miracle. Well inch by inch and bit by bit I worked hard and at my lowest had lost 85 pounds. I am a little higher then my lowest now but getting back there slowly again. If you asked me 3 years ago where I hoped to be now I definitely would have said goal. My goal was to… Continue

I have been doing a lot of reading and research lately and watched this movie tonight with the hubs.
It is a documentary called King Corn (which I highly recommend) where two recent college grads decide they want to try to make “all-natural” high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) in their kitchen. The HFCS industry wouldn’t let them bring cameras into their factories so they did it themselves. Here is the… Continue

Another 3.2 this week. That makes a total of 6lbs lost in the last two weeks, and 8.2 since my famous doctor's visit. I know that this is a fairly quick rate that will likely slow very soon. Nonetheless, I intend to keep up the same program.
The workouts are becoming less emotional, which is good and bad. I liked how my anger began motivating me to work out. Now that I am less frustrated, I worry that I will not keep my motivation. I need to find other reasons to keep on… Continue

Just joined today and think this site is pretty nice and I think it will help me in my fitness goals.
I feel a daily journal with other people pursuing the same thing will give me the motivation to drop the 30 pounds I want to drop.
I decided to sign up for a 5K run this summer as a way to "commit" to my fitness goal and already announced my intent to my wife and coworkers. This way I am going to have to do it :)

As a recovered chronic dieter and--what I consider to be a world class--binge-eater, I know all about misusing food. I spent the first half of my life restricting foods I loved or overeating them and feeling sick to my stomach and sick at heart. Then I read a book that changed my life: FAT IS A FEMINIST ISSUE. I carried that book around with me as if it was an AA big book. I even bought another copy so I could lend it to friends and keep one by my side. This book contained all the secrets about… Continue

Boy has it been a rough day! I can't even begin to fully explain how stressful work has been recently, but I will try. One huge thing we have going on right now is trying to get a bond/levy passed next week. No matter what, there will be $3 million in cuts next year--some teachers have alread gotten their RIF notice. If the levy doesn't pass, we will have to make $6 million in cuts. At that point, I fear for my job because I have only worked here for 3 years and it is solely based on how… Continue

So for the last month I have been busy in Florida planning my wedding to enjoying the spring weather to baseball season! Many people would not be as happy as I am for being almost 2 months of not weighing myself i still managed to loose .2 pounds. I did completely cheat with massive carbs and beer but never too out of control. I really did try when i was eating more carbs then i did normal to watch my portions. To me that is the hardest part of weight lose! But the reason I am so thrilled is… Continue

I work at my children's school three days a week. I relish my two days home alone all by myself. My daughter on the other hand does not like when I am not at school, especially when she is over tired and fighting off a cold or allergies. On this particular day off, my first home by myself in months I am feeling crummy - allergies and achiness. This morning before 7:30 a.m. she was in tears because her throat hurt, and then her stomach hurt, and then her head hurt, then it was that I like my… Continue
