Step by step oooh baby!

It's been a couple weeks since I've logged on to btl and since I've stepped on the scale.  With all the travel I was doing I didn't want a disappointment.  So I waited and here I am with another small loss.  I'm happy and motivated to move forward.  I'm consistently logging my food into MFP and cooking lots of new recipes lately which is lots of fun!

Weigh In #2

1.8 down for my second WW weigh in.

I had to go two days early because of work.  So I went to another location near my house.  I thought it'd be awkward 1) without my friend who I started this journey out with 2) with a group I didn't know .... but ya know what?  It wasn't bad.  I even stayed for the meeting.  Surprised myself.

Observations - I've become very intentional about what I am doing with my meal planning and what I consume.  I may not be doing weekly planning, but I…

Weekly Update - 3/26

Weight - Up 0.8 pounds.

Exercise - Ran 27 miles & did 2 upper body resistance workouts

Food - Had a few mini stress eating binges.

Mood - Disappointment with my progress.

After watching an episode of extreme weight loss on TV, a couple was working out 2 hours a day with Chris Powell. The husband stuck with the diet, the wife was closet eating. It was determined that she wasn't losing weight because of this over eating. Once she did stick to the… Continue

First Week in the WW Books

4# loss at weigh in last night.  BAM!

Had fun learning the program and finding my way.  The WW app also added to the fun of the week.  Lots of support there.  Anyone else on WW - look me up on Connect - bryantlab

I had some a-ha moments this week.  The first came on Wednesday when we had a meeting with lunch provided by my boss.  At first I cringed and had to leave the room so that I could look up the points value of the Chick-Fil-A sandwich that they gave me.  I decided to cut…

I started changing things up. I am continuing to run but since I was feeling fried I knew I needed to do something. Sunday was a 6 mile run. Monday Before work I ran 3.4 miles & after work I ran another 3.5 miles & after I did a 30 minute upper body work out. I held a fore arm plank for a full minute. I have not been able to do that for a while. This morning I ran 3.4 again, but tonight I took a break. I figured if I split up my running I will fall back into wanting to run. I am adding… Continue

Weekly update 3/19

Honestly it was an okay week nothing fantastic. It's been crazy busy at work and I have literally been running my but off.

Weight- Down 4.5 lb

Food- I did okay this week but it could have definitely been better and knowing that I should be making better choices makes me feel guilty after I make a poor choice. I also need to be better about documenting in mfp.

Exercise- I was able to get a 1.5 mile walk in today and want to start some gardening and possibly get a bike…

Remember Me?

WOW - its been a while for sure.  July 9, 2016 to be exact.  Its been quite the ride.

Let me start by saying, dang I've missed you guys.  So I joined Weight Watchers last Monday.  Yup.  After a million years (not really) of trying it on my own, I came to the realization that I need to spend the money for the accountability.  Don't get me wrong.  I have learned a lot on my own and I have made a lot of changes in how I approach food.  I just haven't been making progress # wise.  Healthy…

Weekly update 3/13/17

So last week I posted about the frustrations of the scale so this morning I stepped on to the scale that I have been using for over a year and it said I was one weight which I really questioned so I stepped on my husbands withings smart scale and it was like a 6 lb difference. So I have decided to just continue with the withings scale as that seems to be more accurate than the one that I was using.

As for the rest of the week eating okay exercise only if you count running around and…

Burn Out

I think I am getting burned out. I like what running has done for me. I look so much leaner. But I have been pushing myself & to be honest I am bored. I am not sure if it is due to the treadmill or what but I know I need to add in some resistance training. I was planning on joining a health club through the winter months to break up the running & get some much needed upper body work. Well, I never did that for many reasons. The most obvious one is my concern I would undo all the great… Continue

So I found out on Monday of this week that my boss was taking me to Boston on Business Wed-Fri of this week.  So that meant I had 7 meals out over the last couple days...I usually WI on Friday morning but because I wasn't home I couldn't.  I would have when I woke up this morning, but I totally forgot because I had to get up and out early for my daughter's basketball playoff game.  So I'm thinking tomorrow I will step on, to see if my choices were good enough.  I did well with my choices. …

Travel tips

Over the last 4 years on Weight Watchers, I have been on the road quite a bit--vacations, visitng family, etc. I wouldn't say that I have it all figured out, but I have learned a few tips along the way that at least help minimize the damage.

1. Keep 2 out of 3 meals a day "normal".--This is different depending on whether I am staying with family or in a hotel, but I try to keep my breakfast and lunch the same as I would eat at home. It's fairly easy to throw a box of oatmeal in my…

day 4

Tonight I have to bake 3 cakes for an event tomorrow. Then tomorrow I need to cook taco stuff for 30 people. Plus, regular cooking for family in between.

Don't you just wish you could give up food like people give up other addictions?

I remember a story that I posted a long time ago here, when I first started blogging about 8 years ago (different account then...wish I had kept it...probably should read what really helped and hurt me back then in my weight loss journey). Anyway,…

So I stepped on the scale on Sunday it said I was up like 7 lbs and then stepped on it again this morning and it was down 4 lbs from Sunday. It's so frustrating being so attached to that thing and so dependent on what its going to say! Last week I ate poorly and exercised to little and Mother Nature is not helping matters. Like Erica said bring on spring!!

day 3...

I am on day 3...for the 300th time at least. But, I have never given up hope in myself that I can become healthy again. So I am back. Again. And I hope this time it all really works for me. I am using the "one day at a time" method. I am trying to make little changes that work really well for me in the long run.

Today, someone where I work (as a volunteer) made delicious cookies. I decided I could have one. She had 4 amazing flavors. In the past I would have tried all of them (some more…

Another year older

A wise woman once told me, "You will never be as young as you are this very moment".  Oh how true that is!  I celebrated 38 years on Monday therefore last week consisted of one lunch out with my best friend, 3 dinners out, sushi take out and 2 different cakes were gifted to me!  So the -0.4 loss that I logged this week was a very, very happy thing!  I really thought I would just maintain.  The fact that I lost with all those meals that I didn't not cook myself and going over my…

Setting a Goal--and staying there

Paula asked a couple questions about setting a goal, so here goes. I certainly don't have it all figured out. The first time I did Weight Watchers I lost 65 pounds, kept it off for 1.5 years and then put almost all of it back on! I learned a lot from that experience--like don't do anything to lose weight that you won't do to keep the weight off. That time I was super strict, lost every week, and hardly indulged. I also wasn't very fun to be around. Haha. And when I got tired of living that…

Weekly Update - 3/4

Weight - Up 1.4 pounds.

Exercise - Ran 26 miles on the treadmill

Food - Eating too much. Too much snacking.

Mood - Mad at myself for not overcoming this damn food addiction.

What the hell is it with me & food?? I cannot stop with the Goldfish crackers or other salty snacks. I think I can relate to the cravings a heroin addict has. At least I am consistent with exercise. I try really hard to NOT let the scale dictate my mood or self worth, but it… Continue
