One Mile Makes Me Smile

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

Just wanted to let you all know I was thinking of you.  "Hopped" on the scale yesterday to see I was down just a little but I'm going to take it with a smile.  I was way too close to 250 for my liking.  Completed a one mile walking work out yesterday and this morning!!!

Milestone

This morning the husband and I both happened to weigh ourselves at home. I officially weigh less than him now. Woo hoo. It has been a LONG time since I could say that. Like within months of us getting married.

What IS working

I committed to logging my calories... Good or bad.
Big days mean j eat 2500-3000 calories.
My goal is 1800 and I range between 1650 and 2100
so far.

I saw on here a 5 day challenge so I am going to
Start with 5 days of walking during my lunch break.
Starting Monday ( 20 minutes).

Then I will tackle the next 5 days...perhaps eating
1600 cal?

Obstacles

My profile pic is actually my first goal now.

Turns out I gained 20 pounds since September...

Coincidence that I started gaining a pound per week

after starting a job that I dislike immensely?

So today I am 200 pounds, size 18. My size 14s look dreamy

now!

My son is at his dad's twice per week. When I get him

from daycare, we get home about 6, dinner is at 6:30, bath at

7:30 and we read books at 8; he is in bed by 8:30.

There has to… Continue

Boo to a Rainy Day

It's cloudy and yucky outside.  I was really hoping to get in another outside run today.  I will have to wait on that though.  I'm going to do weights today since I ran out of time yesterday and I can't run today.

I need to get my butt in gear today: I have grading (annotated bibs, notebooks, and some rough drafts); typing lesson plans including substitute teacher plans for Tuesday; finishing laundry and folding/putting away; putting away dishes; and making the food for Sunday…

Spring break is coming to a close.....

This has been a really nice and relaxing spring break. We got back yesterday from Valle de Bravo, a little town in the mountains about 2 hours from here. It is so beautiful (and did I mention relaxing?) there and there is a nice big lake. We walked around a lot, had some delicious meals and read a ton. What better vacation to have? It was just what I needed.

We got back late afternoon yesterday and met up with some friends for drinks last night. I drank a lot without even wanting or…

A Pain in the...Back

Woah. I had no idea how bad back pain could be. I have no idea what I did to my back, but it hurts. It feels really tight from my lower back, through my hips and hamstrings. Yesterday I couldn't even get out of bed without help. The crazy part is, that I knew the more I laid around, the worse it was getting. I did as much foam rolling and stretching as I could and it felt a little better by the afternoon. It is really hard to take care of a 27 pound 10 month old that needs to be carried…

Doing Double Duty

I kinda flaked out yesterday and didn't do my weights.  Was it because I was super tired?  Yes.  Was it because I was so sore last time that I was a little afraid to do them Thursday? Yes.  Was it because I stayed at work until nearly 7pm helping with cheerleader tryouts that evening? Yes.

But, I'm not going to let that mean anything.  I will just work out by running today and doing weights. Then, if I fit in a run tomorrow, I will have made it back on track.  If I run…

Birthday Treats

Today, I celebrate another year of this wonderful life. So blessed.

I plan to indulge today. Not crazy binge eating, but I will definitely partake fully in my lunch date with friends, cake at work, and dinner plans with family at my favorite restaurant. I debated starting with sausage burritos from McDonalds this morning (one of my fav's), but decided against it, as I just don't feel well after and I want to enjoy the day.

Last night, I wasn't so smart (big mac…

Well, I Remembered My Lunch.

Today was my off-day working out.  I was so sore yesterday I figured I needed to have one of my off days be on Wednesday.  The other will be either on a Sat or Sun depending on the week.

I remembered my breakfast and lunch today.  Only part of my lunch (the baked potato) was not all the way cooked through (My bad) so I didn't eat it... I just can't win!

Here's today's meals:

B: whole wheat homemade waffle with peanut butter and maple syrup

L: turkey…

Three Days Grace

Well today was a close call! I did NOT want to get out of bed... I was talking with myself in my head... Maybe today you can just do 30 minutes and call it good.

But then I thought... you aren't going to want to get on the scale. You are going to be upset with yourself and you will blow the day. So I got up. Strapped on my purple asics (they are all purple with neon green... awesome - I hope to never buy another pair of boring kicks). Did 45 on the elliptical. I didn't get in my P90…

Note to Self

Yes, your back is KILLING you. It makes it hard to exercise. It makes it hard to take care of the baby. It makes life hard. BUT--food is not going to make it feel better.  Put down the spoon and jar of peanut butter and step away from the kitchen.

Keeping Up

I got up this morning super early so I could go running.  I did about 2 miles.  Hopefully soon I can work myself back up to 3 miles.

Today, I am tired.   I want to go to bed early tonight.  I think I need it!  I was so tired that this morning I left my breakfast and lunch on the counter when I set off for work this morning.  So I was stuck with crap food at work.  Boo.

Here's todays meal plan:

B: I planned on having a homemade whole wheat waffle with peanut…

Not feeling like myself

I am not sure what is happening but after fighting the flu for the past 5 days although I am finally physically feeling normal. However mentally I have had every emotion imaginable. At some points I feel very alone, scared, tired, anxious, energetic and even numb. I don't know if this is still part of the illness or if its something else yesterday we had a snow day and I had a ton of energy but by the end of the day I was feeling lonely and upset. I even broke into tears watching the news this… Continue

Way Too Close For Comfort

I kind of randomly hopped on the scale today to see my weight was exactly 249 pounds.  That is just WAY to close to 250 pounds for my liking.  If I am going to be honest I can't really say that my weight is a surprise.  I know I have given up on the exercise and the water intake and I have been eating terribly ~ takeout once or twice every day, tons of candy every day, and so much stress eating that my belly actually hurts at the end of most days ~ not to mention that even my fat clothes are…

Can't believe I forgot...

I swear I had written about it, but looking back apparently I forgot! The New Year started out as predicted, all sorts of resolutions flying around and overcrowded parking lots at the Y. Then 6 days in, my mom had a stroke. She was about to turn 61. 6 weeks in the hospital and 3 weeks in rehab before she found herself in a nursing home. Still just....dumbfounds me, I guess. The main cause was uncontrolled diabetes. My mom was diagnosed as Type 2 while I was in middle school or so, and…

Effects of Bullying

I know this post has absolutely nothing to do with Blogging to Loose.  So if you don't mind please bear with me.  (and if you do ... U have a pass to move on by.)

I wish there were an undo button for days like today.  My son had a tennis match against his old school; where for the last two years he had been bullied to the breaking point.  Last May it all came to a head and we met with the powers to be and requested a transfer for his 8th grade year.  We knew if we didn't do something,…
