Had the weigh in at work for the compeition.  I didn't lose anything although I actually ended up losing 0.25 (only because I wore a sweater last week and today was warm so I wore a light top.)  I am very happy that I didn't gain, I worked hard for that.  I knew starting my TOM that I would be higher than expected.

Work wasn't so hot.

Then I came home and threw some chicken and veggies in the crockpot.  Forgot the seasoning for the chicken.

Then I went to the gym and…

Wednesday Already?!!!

Well it seems like the days fly by! I had a lot of random crap come up today. My hubby decided without my knowledge that we were going to go help his brother buy a boat :/ So my whole morning was basically me sitting inside the car waiting for them to get done looking at the boat, buying the boat, then I had to follow him 45 minutes away to where he lives in Iowa. Annoying.

I had a chocolate Milk in the am, for lunch I had a Taco Bravo from Taco Johns, maybe ten potato oles. I dont…

Weigh-In Wednesday – 236.8lbs, .4lbs Lost This Week

You know, I authentically didn’t expect to lose weight this week so I’m more than happy for what I did lose. I worked myself hard this week and I expected to see the body freak-out-and-hold-on-to-weight I’ve seen in the past when I started working out again. I suspect that there’s some of that happening but less than usual.

My body fat percentage is still showing up as really low on my scale so that tells me that something is going on that is making me retain weight a bit more than…

Note to self: It won't disappear

So, you have been trying to focus more on intuitive eating lately. That's good.

You stopped tracking, stopped obsessing. You needed to.

You are focusing more on your work outs and more on how your clothes fit. That's GREAT. The number on a scale is just a number, especially when you are lifting weights 3x weekly.

However, you need to stop eating like a starving dog who is terrified the only source of food is going to be taken away from you any…

Snow Day

Snow day here. I knew the weather was suppose to be terrible overnight and all day today so yesterday I put in for a PTO(paid time off) for today. The nicest thing is not having to do anything. I don't have many of those kinds of days. I recently got some new books so I've been flipping through them for inspirational recipe ideas and came across one for granola bars. The recipe called for chocolate chips, but I decided to skip them since I didn't have any anyway. Estimated calories per bar…

Right on track?

It's interesting how a little motivation can go a long way.

Oh. And getting a filling.

For a number of reasons, it was the perfect storm of not eating yesterday - from being up late, to coming in to work late, to lots of meetings...I finally got in some food at lunch. And right after work, I had a cavity filled. So my mouth was numb until about 9:30. Ate the rest of my calories. Days like that, while they suck, sure make things easier…

hey strangers!

i feel bad, i haven't been on here in over a month. things are going wonderfully though!

for those of you wondering how the diet pills went, i was not a fan. i took them for about a week and they made me jittery, like i wasn't myself. and they gave me terrible heartburn and nausea. so i just stopped taking them. if anyone wants 2/3 of a bottle of hydroxycut, come on over and take them off my hands. haha

however, somehow i've started losing weight slowly and i'm smaller than…

Keep on Keeping On... (2.28.12)

Sorry I have been a bit off and on lately, my life has been a bit off and on lately!  I have been going through some struggles both in my diet and in my *real* life.  I have been struggling not to allow that to be reflected in my food choices; I have been successful and not successful..  Between problems with my family, looking for a new house, and the emotions that come with both, throw in some traveling, a death of a friend's father and it's been a two week trip in crazy town.

Today was a new day! Thank god! I woke up with that determined I will do this attitude again, I am so glad she came back! I ate a banana for breakfast, worked out 20 minutes, sat on pinterest for too long, had myself some smoked deli turkey plain for lunch, worked out for another 20 minutes! For dinner I made homemade chicken and dumplings. yeah yeah prob not the best but it cant be that bad, I only had two dumplings and that sauce is basically just broth and some cream of chicken soup. That…

Food transformation

I noticed that I've been thinking about food differently lately.  Not that I don't have binges or that I won't again, just that they're not as important in my life.  Overall I eat healthy foods and stay close to my calorie goal.  I feel like I could pretty easily maintain this weight in the long run.  Last night I ate well and stayed on my calorie target and then went out after supper and got a milkshake.  Today, I ate a good breakfast, then went shopping with some students and got a…

The Biggest Loser indeed

So, I'm watching The Biggest Loser right now, and they've sent all the contestants home for 18 days. During that time, they want them each to lose 5% of their body weight, which seems to be a range of 9-16 lbs. Seriously? I mean, I get that they can lose weight absurdly fast when they're at the ranch and working out 10 hours a day under the guidance of a trainer, plus having nutritionists plan their meals (does that happen? I assume it does.) But losing a pound or more every two days seems…

New week new outlook!

Well I still have that I'll start on Monday (for me my week begins on Wednesday) so I'm starting tomorrow! I wrote down my meals and snacks a Weight Watchers leader once said "people don't plan to fail, they fail to plan"  so I'm planning!! Kiddo #2 asked me today as I was bringing her to school if I was going anywhere today I said Yes to school tonight she said no I mean right now you used to go to the gym. I said no I wasn't and she said when did you stop going I told her last week. She said… Continue

Big Dinner

I ate out with hubby for dinner and I should have been good with just the salad bar, but that's not what I did.  Oh well.  One meal and I ordered all right.

I had a great meeting with my boss this morning about our data collection process and it was just really nice to have a good discussion and have him understand what I wanted to say.  I have my evaluation tomorrow and I really hope it's solid and goes well.

I need to write my lesson plans for my substitute…

One more good day

I had a good day. I made good choices. Plenty of veggies, an apple, lefse & tofutti roll ups. I came home and did my Power 90 Sculpt DVD and made a quick Mexican Millet Skillet Dinner. I had never made millet before. It is kind of like couscous. I just boiled it up. In a skillet I cooked minced garlic, chopped onion and corn. Added some cumin, salt and pepper and  let it simmer. Once the millet was cooked I mixed it all up in the…

Skanky Tuesday - Everyone's A Douche

It has long been my conviction that when it comes to matters of love, sex, and dating; everyone is a douche.

Yes, even you.

And me.

Especially me.

Think about it; we spend a lot of time talking about how men are all assholes. Guys probably spend almost as much time talking about how all women are crazy. Besides the fact that this begs the questions “do crazy women turn men into assholes or do men make women go crazy,” (Which came first; the chicken or the egg?) it…

Gummy bear confessional

I was on such a nice streak of eating well and avoiding sugar. Why did I buy gummy bears? They were organic and fruit-sweetened, so I thought, good, not a sugar-chemical cocktail. I wanted to try out something I read about gummies being a good booster during long-runs.

I tried them on my 10-miler on Sunday, and they were definitely not better fuel than my Larabar. Which I could have guessed. We all know that I just wanted an excuse to have something decadently…

Stop trying to over-do it and stick to what I know.

So I've been having a hard time sticking to any specific diet plan lately. Yesterday I didn't think about it, my brain needed a break. I focused on eating healthy, getting my workout in, and not over-doing it (with food). So this morning out of curiosity I counted up my points for yesterday, and was pleasently surprised that I hadn't gone over.

I got thinking about when I first started loosing weight and what gave me the most success. I realized I didn't go on some really strict diet… Continue

Slowly plodding.

Last night our entire family went to the local rec center. It was more packed than I have ever seen it! Crazy packed.

They have a track that is 1/8 mile long. It was just so full of people that it was a little hard dodging in and out of everyone at times.

But still we persevered! My oldest daughter and I started (last night!) the C25K plan. I've done 5Ks and 10Ks before, but she hasn't, so it should be fun.

Anyway, I'd better go find some food for…
