So great things to report today. I got to sleep in (and catch up on sleep), had a delicious Kashi oatmeal for breakfast, and then headed out to the gym. Now here's the amazing part, I spent 2 hours at the gym!!! 2 hours!!! I started on the treadmill, and completed the W1D1 of the C25K program--and surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. I'm excited to get it going and really see my stamina improve. After that, I was at about 25 minutes, and… Continue

The boyfriend decided to be sweet and plan a big breakfast date for us this morning. He brought over some supplies last night and stashed them in my fridge, and then was at my house at about 9:30 this morning to start cooking. We had a tasty breakfast of bacon, fried potatoes [hash browns, breakfast potatoes, whatever you'd like to call them], and toaster waffles. He also bought some fruit, and I put about half of a banana on top of my two little waffles, along with a dab of raspberry jam on… Continue

Today was a much better day than yesterday :) I am so glad that I didn't let one bad day ruin my weekend. I really think it is due to this great website and all of the encouragement I am getting. WOOHOO!
This morning I woke up with a resolve to get stuff done that I just have been avoiding...namely the grocery store. Blah. I hate going and I wish that I never had to go again BUT I got up this morning and did it first thing. I find that if I do it right when I wake up then it is… Continue

Here I sit, watching the little sponge man with my 2 year old. I am so tired and I am trying not to think of what my WI will be tomorrow. I am a little nervous. Scratch that- I am expecting the worst. I did great all week and then yesterday pigged out on nachos celebrating my sister's end of final exams, then today I had a bit of a hectic morning and I ate about 7 double stuf oreos. I discovered they are soooo good frozen! I froze them to try not to eat them and then they were so good it was… Continue

Today's weigh-in was 177.6, down another 1.4 lbs. Which means that after two months, I've lost 14 lbs. Not bad.
I'm starting to have trouble staying motivated, though. I'm not having cravings really, but I'm tired of all my diet food. I'm bored with my workout. I'm tired of having to weigh and calculate and look up and log everything I eat. I feel a fall off the wagon coming on and I don't know what to do about it. I don't know how people who've lost a whole lot of weight stay with… Continue

Well, I started February at 142.8lbs.. Ended it at 141lbs. HAHA! I've been having a lot of digestion/bowel issues for the past few months, and it's been intense the past three weeks, so I'm not surprised. That's all part of Weight Watchers, right? Gains, losses, maintaining... Gotta take it all in strides. This will be the first time I've ever maintained (stayed at 141lbs this week), and I'm pretty happy about it because I was expecting a small gain due to the digestion… Continue

So today was an exciting day, very bad food wise but a fun day! So i had class this morning, and then I went to the biggest loser audition here in charlotte. I was in line for 5 hours before i even saw a producer, but the coolest part was i got to meet heba and ed from last season, and bob and amy! That was really amazing to actually see them up close. I met bob personally that was really nice!! heba and ed just kind of talked to my group i was in. I did realize while standing in line, that… Continue

Ok so this week was no good either. We went out way too much and gained a whole pound! Uhg. I did however got my mom to come with me to my ww meeting and then she bought a food scale and some measuring spoons! Finally I am going to have an ally in the house!!! She has not been the best influence on me when I am trying to loose weight. Now she is at least trying to do better for herself as well as for me. We also went to the gym right after and I got in a half workout. I say that because I… Continue

Today I'm having a rough day. I just feel really off. Amazingly it isn't because I'm eating too much or out of points. The baby had me up around 6 this morning. So my sleep got all messed up. I ended up sleeping in way too late (12:30) which has really messed up my day. Usually I'm up by 9 or 9:30. No one else is up so that gives me time to journal last night's food into twitter and update my blog. Then I plan out my food for the rest of the day. And then I exercise around 12:30-1 for 1/2 hour.… Continue

I had another good week! I was expecting maybe 1.5 lbs, but was pleasantly surprised when it was 3.8! That puts me down to 240.2! The 5% is so close I can almost taste it, but I don’t know the point value.
I was so excited to go home, and put my numbers in to the WeightWatchers eTools. I was throw aback by the cautionary tone in which the eTools informed me I was losing too fast, and possibly could jeopardize my health. Oh, you mean worse than the 89 extra lbs I’ve been carrying for… Continue

Starting Monday I will officially be on a gluten-free diet for a week. I am trying it to see if I have a gluten or wheat intolerance. I have been diagnosed with IBS. I recently found out my niece, who had terrible stomach pains the past two days, was also diagnosed with IBS. My mom wants to see if the gluten free diet helps me in hopes that my niece may also benefit.
It's not too hard to find gluten free products, and while I read that I needed to be careful since so many gluten-free… Continue

Since losing a little over three pounds last week, I have become weight obsessed. Not to the point that I don't follow wieght watchers. I still am and use WW website to journal my food on a daily basis. (I think I will continue to post my intake of food here as well. Just to constantly keep it in my face.) I just constantly think, read, watch TV about weight loss and exercise. I am doing Zumba once a day and might up that so I can lose more weight. I have many weight loss blogs on my google… Continue

Ugh!!! So after a beautiful dinner with my husband last night, I have no extra points. Not a huge deal, because my week re-sets on Tuesday morning.
So, what do I do today? I eat carbs...even though I know eating carbs makes me want to eat more carbs...so on and so forth. Now, it's 2pm and I have 4 points left for the day.
What I've eaten: an English muffin, a Fiber One bar, a banana, a yogurt, a South Beach Diet meal bar, another English muffin, another Fiber One bar, yet… Continue

My day has started out beautifully! A nice bowl of oatmeal with dried cranberries and a few slivered almonds, then off to the gym for a kick-ass Body Pump class! Whew was that a workout! On the way home I stopped at the liquor store to pick up a bottle of wine and a 6-pack of Mikes Hard Pomegranate Lemonade. Here's where the temptations begin.
I'm driving home, minding my own business, when the lady in front of me decides at the last minute to hit her brakes and cut across 2 lanes to… Continue

Dear Mr. Treadmill,
You know that I love you! I apologize for the recent break-up. I am ready to try this relationship again.
Yes, well. That is what I was thinking before. Now, I think I am back at it. I met up with Mr. Treadmill for a short gaunt this morning. I felt good - thinking about a number of other things - but managed to run 5km. My mind was wondering a lot. From engagement pictures (booked for tomorrow, but it is so cold here we… Continue

I've been wanting to get into running for a while now but I've been waiting for clear sidewalks and warmer weather, which is slowly but surely getting here. Anyway, I was thinking about getting this Nike+ chip I've heard so much about. I went to the official website and read a bit about it but I have some more questions that I figured could be answered by BTLers who use it!
1 - I don't have an iPod, nor do I really need one/have the money for one (my Creative Zen Micro is still… Continue

I am a little freaked out today. I know we are only to weigh ourselves once a week but I never do and I usually weigh myself a few times a week just to be sure I am on the right track. I weighed myself today and am up a few pounds. I don't know what to equate it to, I have been op all week and gotten some exercise. I will be really bummed if I am up this week. Just had to vent.

If you look at my page on Group Recipes on the URL above you will see just how i put back on this 20 lbs. After the knee surgery and I was homebound i decided to take up baking. I intend to start posting the healthy recipes that i come up with here in the future with photos. Here is a sample of what I am working towards. Cooking healthy can certainly be just as rewarding and just as beautifully photographed and I intend to prove that to myself. Below are the pics of last nights dinner of Fajita… Continue

Alright, so we all have weaknesses, right? We all do things that we know are bad for us, things that don't contribute to leading a healthy and happy life. But if we were all perfect.........well.........how boring things would be! hehe....
But in all seriousness, I have a history of negative self-talk. It's something that I've been trying to turn around this past year and I've been happy with the changes I've noticed in myself. So, I challenge you to make a list of all of the things… Continue
