5lb loss!!!

This week I made plain black bean soup instead of the curry version. Most of these soups have a lot of random stuff in them that I find around the kitchen. Anyway last week having that black bean curry soup to snack on netted me a 5lb loss! even though I went over my weekly points by like 30! also I have been trying to drink more water and tea. One more bottle to go today! (I refill). I managed to take my kids running twice this week on the indoor track and I stayed true and continued to run…

Pilates!

My first class today and boy! was it tough.  And what made it harder was taking it AFTER I worked out and did weights.  I didn't check the class description and thought that Pilates Fusion in a yoga studio would have more yoga (it didn't).  

But now I know that on Fridays I do my cardio at the gym then head to this class.   I have a feeling I'm going to be stiff tomorrow.

Weekly Check / Weigh In

My weigh in this morning was much better than it has been over the last 2-3 weeks.  I was down .8 today, which when compared to my weigh ins over the last two weeks, is more than I saw on Simply Filling for one week.  I am not saying SF is a bad plan, I am just saying that maybe the flexibility of points works better for me.  Two weeks on SF, I lost a total of 1 pound.  One week back to points and I lose .8, almost a pound.  I think you can…

Circuit day

So I made a few workout circuits for my bf and me. Today was our first one and it was a medium challenge for our first one. I'll post my workout circuits in case anyone wants to use them. Let me know if you have any questions.



Circuit #1:

-15 step-ups (onto a chair or bench) each leg.

-10 each side, standing arm side-sides with medicine ball.

-1 minute wall sits

I wa told today that my fear of food is actually a good thing. What a relief! I have trained my subconscious to know that certain foods are a bad thing, and I'm going into alert, strong and motivated mode. I was glad to hear that it's a healthy fear of food.



This week has really gotten away from me. I'll be very surprised on Sunday if I've dropped anything. In which case I need to start working harder. It's been a while since vie gone down any. I wasn't bad this week, I don't think.… Continue

Day 30!!! Setting new goals

Its day 30 of eating vegan and i feel good. I would continue with it if it my mother wasnt so concerned with my iron which i understand, had 2 swim practices today, one in the morning for an hour and one this afternoon so im spent but i feel good! I burned over 2000 calories according to myfitnesspal so i was proud of that.



I ate really well today and i think ill have a good weigh in tomorrow as a "final" weigh in after my vegan month of eating.

It's Too Darn Cold!

This winter has been a real bear, except unlike a bear I'm not hibernating!   Even though I get bundled up for my walks it is still bitter cold.  I am getting at least 10,000 steps 6 out of 7 days and more than 30 mins of aerobics for those same says, but still!  Hoping that next week is better so I can enjoy my walks.

Thank goodness for the gym.   Going to take a Pilates fusion class tomorrow so that should be fun.  Apparently a combo of Pilates and yoga.

Highs and Lows

In any journey there will be highs and there will be lows. It's like you're circling a mountain... round and round not sure if the next bend will bring you up or down. This past week I've been soaring. My energy level has been so high and I have been on the go from the time I get up and head to work until the time I hit the pillow. Rewards

When you've got a lot of weight to lose the best way to approach it is to break it up into phases. When I started this journey in September 2012 I weighed 271 pounds and set my goal weight as 190. At that point I didn't really know what that weight would look or feel like on me. I saw it as an attainable number. I didn't set specific rewards for set numbers of pounds lost but I had an idea in mind of things I wanted and things I was going to work towards.

Day 29!!!! 2 more days to go!

Im super excited to anounce i hit a new decade this morning! Sorry i couldnt post a picture of the beautiful 159.6 weigh in this morning! I just couldnt wait! It was awesome. I dont think my weight has been this low since eighth grade and then i remember promising myself id never hit 150!

Weight loss and race training

I've never done the whole blog thing, I was never committed enough for it. But I've been thinking recently and maybe it's just what i need to motivate myself to accomplish my goals for this year and to stick with them forever( hopefully) :). My New Years resolutions were to run 1 race a month, no matter a 5k-marathon. day 28 getting really close!!!

Today was good, I didn't track what I ate today but I can tell you I think I was fine, I had some orange juice and a banana for breakfast (I know it isn't much but I really hate eating in the morning and since I had morning practice at 5:30 am I just ate afterward) some vegan popped chips as a snack, for luch it was left over 1/2 cup of left over roasted potatoes ( the mini potatoes quartered in a little olive oil and salt/ pepper/ spices) and a veggie burger chopped up mixed with some rice.…

Check up

I had a great doctors visit this morning! Just a simple check up. I did wake up around 5am anxious, that sucks. Especially since I like my doctor and feel safe with her. But I'm glad it went well. We discussed end goals. She said for my height and age that 150 lbs would be great. So I have until the end of the year to get rid of 40 more. I can do it!

Single Digits

For the first time in my ENTIRE life, I bought a pair of size 8 jeans--single digits y'all! And I mean, literally, my entire life. I went straight from kids sized elastic waist pants to a women's size 12. Most of my teenage years and early adult life I wore a size 16. I got up to an 18 after I had my son. Even when I lost the weight the first time I didn't get down to single digits. We are in uncharted territory here!

Day 27... 4 more to go!

I'm ready to brag on myself. Twins

I have always looked up to my oldest sister. She is 3 years older than me and growing up I always wanted to be just like her. I always thought of her as being prettier than me and she has definitely always been way thinner than me my entire life. My new trick to drink more water

Just a quick post to say... I love fruit-infused water!! I got inspired after a mojito-making night I had with friends. I had left over limes and mint leaves so the next day I combined them with a large jug of water, left for 2 hours and then drank from it all day, topping up every now and then with more water. I am hooked! I have tried a few different variations so far and from a quick search online I can see 100's of other awesome ideas.

Day 26... FINALLLY THINGS ARE GETTING BACK TO NORMAL!

Alright, I've just come back from the week from hell

*lost my phone tore up my whole house for the last week looking for the phone I got less than 3 weeks ago.

*my computer refused to work for three days

*I found out that my Nexus 7 also refused to function

*I ran a fever for 5 days

*I wasn't able to go on the trip with my swim team because of my illness

* my boyfriend of well over a year broke up with me unexpectedly
