Oh man. It kills me how quickly time flies.
I am still exactly where I was in December. I haven't gained anything, but I also haven't lost anything. I am just kind of in limbo. I haven't really been going to the gym, but I have been incorporating more activity into my day gradually.

I was so busy fretting over this weekends calorie splurge that I totally missed something arguably much more important.
I ran 10K without stopping.
That's right, 10 kilometers, or just over 6 miles (I jogged 7 miles on the track). During the fall I was ecstatic to just reach 1 mile and now I'm running 7.
I guess it goes to show that sometimes we all need to see the bigger picture. :-)

So far, in the past week or so that I have been dieting, I have lost 4 lbs!! I'm sure some of that is water, but it was encouraging. I have also been eating well--not crash-dieting and managing to fit a lot of nutrients into a 1200 calorie diet. I can hardly believe that I've lost 19 1/2 pounds in 4 weeks. I've really worked at staying on track with my eating and my exercise, which I do every day in some form. I know that sadly, sniff...my weight loss is going to slow down as I go further along on this path so I'm reminding my brain that from now on, any loss at all each week will be a major step in the right direction. Today I had fun experimenting in the kitchen a bit. This morning I made homemade whole wheat pancakes. They turned out really good. The hubby even liked them, and he won't consider eating anything that is whole wheat. Tonight I made strawberry crepes. The crepes were 1/2 whole wheat. They turned out REALLY good and hit the sweet spot that I've been having. And they were only 171 calories.

Today I had O'Charleys for lunch. I haven't been there since I started WW, so I wasn't really sure what I would get. We went unexpectedly after church, so I wasn't able to look up the nutritional information online either. All I knew was that I love the rolls and the Loaded potato soup. This week (aside from last night's bar excursion for a friend's birthday) has been really successful. I'm *really* hoping I post a loss, but after this weekend I'm not sure. Today was a high calorie day unfortunately. I'm not sure how many I had, as my friend made dinner. I'm kind of bummed with myself right now for going overboard. I guess we all have times like that.

I have been working on normal eating for the past two and a half years and have gained about 10lbs in the process...I have also not lost anything yet. I was beginning to get really frustrated. So in the new year I decided to try making an effort at weight loss again. I am on a roll! I went for another run outside this morning (2.11 mi.). I LOVE it. Wish I could do it everyday outside!
The run started out kind of slow. I was a little sore and actually didn't think I would finish running - figured I'd walk the rest. But I pushed on and finished 2 mi. running in a little under 22 minutes. Not great time, I know, but for me it's great. Focus, focus, focus! Now that I have the "house thing" at a somewhat manageable point, it's time to get back in gear. Apologies for this being non-food. We saw the house yesterday. For being empty the past 3 years, it's actually in remarkable shape. New roof, vinyl windows, WOODWORK, what appears to be newer furnace/ac/ and water heater, WOODWORK, a Jaccuzi tub and did I mention the fantasatic woodwork? Here is a picture. We got a really big snow (for TN) on Friday. I won't be leaving my driveway anytime soon, but luckily I've done all the errands and grocery shopping I need to and have plenty of videos, weights, etc. to get my workouts done at home, so no excuses!

So it's been a few days and I have not been doing that great on my goal since I have been gone. Granted, I have a fairly decent excuse for not being on here (inlaws in town, not having a working dishwasher and the kitchen being crowded with tools regarding this, going back to work on Monday, taking a major certification interview on Friday), but not for not achieving my goal. I have a busy Sunday so I'm going to make this a quick post. I've got to work today. I need to grade, lesson plan, and I have a basketball game to supervise. I have to drive almost an hour to the school I work at so that I can get on a bus....to drive to where I live (the game is being played in the town I live) and then when the game is over I get to drive back home.
