Hey my friends!!

I am still here.... just disappeared for a while.  Between crappy internet connectivity at home and having to replace the hard drive on my personal laptop, I have been out of commission for a few weeks.  I am back up and running now.  I wish I could say the same for myself...  tracking exclusively using the fitbit app was not working out.  Their stuff is great, but their database is not as robust as some other sites, so I switched over to My Fitness Pal, which syncs directly with my fitbit.  I…See More

How is it going?

Last week I had my daughter home with me the entire week because Daycare was closed.  As much as I wanted to scream, it was nice having one on one time with her - although I could tell by the end of every day she was bored with me.  It doesn't help that I had to work too, but the bills have to get paid somehow...  LOLI tried my best to stay on point.  This tracking via Fitbit only is working very well.  It is nice not having to enter my details into two different apps.  I need to get serious…See More

About Me:
I am 37 years old and re-starting my weight loss journey after essentially not caring for the last 12 months. I am a weight watchers "lifetime member", who obviously is nowhere near my "goal" weight anymore. The hardest thing I have had to do recently is walk back into my center and sign back up. I felt so defeated and like such a loser being a lifetime member who obviously let it all slip away. If it weren't for the team member checking me in and getting me set up, I probably would have broken down in tears. Her words resonated with me.... "at least you came here today and didn't turn around and leave".

I am determined to throw all thoughts out the window and start anew.

I have a very supportive husband. In June 2011, we had our daughter. She is my little princess, the true apple of my eye. I want to be around for her, to do things for her, to be the mom that is able to keep up with my running two year old. Prior to having my daughter I followed WW and managed to stay within 10lbs of my goal weight. It was very hard, but I did it. I do wonder if my chosen goal weight of 150 is attainable and maintainable for me - that's a discussion I need to have when I get closer. I am a bit ways off from there at the moment. I wish I could hope that things would be easier this time around, but I just need to jump in and take what is coming my way.

I am not really "new" to working out, as before having my daughter I worked out everyday. Well, at least 4 days per week. My job at the time made it very easy by offering a free gym in my office. I worked out until I was 8 1/2 months pregnant. I use to like to run - not long distances and I certainly have issues with building my endurance. But I can run, break, run again, etc. Since having my daughter, time is precious. I work full time, take care of our household full time, and of course am a mom. I am trying to ease back into a routine and am interested in learning about quick workout programs, that offer the biggest bang for my 30 min buck. If you have anything to share, cough it up!

Workout Philosophy:
I'm new to exercise, I only exercise because I have to

Vacation Recap

I am back!!  We had a really nice week long vacation in Wildwood, NJ.  I got back to reality and stepped on the scale, only to find a 7lb gain.  What, the what?  I really am not entirely sure how that was possible as I had a good week.  I did splurge, yet I did not over indulge  And to boot - we walked EVERYWHERE!  I had over 64K steps on my fitbit for all of last week.  My neighbor told me she was watching and was amazed at how much I walked.  I think that the "gain" is somewhat…

Ummm...I think we might be the same person. Haha. In 2006 I reached my WW lifetime goal (150, like you). I kept it off for about 2 years, got married and put on 40 pounds. Ugh. Then I had a baby (15 months old now) and was about 60 pounds over goal when I went back to WW just over a year ago. I moved my goal up to 160 so that I can stop paying sooner and because I think it is more maintainable. I look forward to keeping up with you on our similar journey!

Again, something in common. Weight was up, got pregnant, had a miscarriage, weight went even higher. Finally got pregnant, but I started my pregnancy higher than I would have hoped.  I was so, so, so sick. So of course the only thing that sounded good was greasy, food that was horrible for me. I was doing good to get out of bed and makit it to work--so definitely no exercise for me. I gained 50-60 pounds. Dropped 20 right away, then slowed way down. We do plan to have one more and I am praying that I am not that sick again. I would love to have an active, healthy pregnancy next time around.

Hi Kathie.  Thanks for the friend request!  I look forward to learning more about you as you continue to build your blog.  I so know that feeling of walking back into the doors of the WW center... time after time after time.  I have been off and on the program many times over the years!!!

Hi Kathie.  I know I am doing what I can and more in the gym.  My problems is eating out.  We do it every day!  And let's just say I am not a grilled chicken salad girl by any means!

Have you tried the Lean Cuisine Salad additions? I had one for lunch today for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a big salad eater--but this one was good and so easy. What do you typically eat for lunch--I feel like I am in a rut.

Even though we only have 3 in the house, my boys are BIG eaters. Between my husband eating 2-3 servings, my serving and my son's serving, we don't have much left for the next day. Haha. I try and stay away from the lean cuisines because I find that they don't keep me full that long and the ones I like are high in points. Most days I have a sandwich or a wrap.

I didn't realize your husband is a WWer too! How fun. My husband is very supportive, but has no idea what it is like to struggle with your weight. He is a runner and weight just seems to slide right off of him. He runs 20-25 miles a week, so I guess he is putting the work in. Haha.

Ahhh...I went back and re-read your comment. When you said "the husband" you were referring to the husband that is part of the couple--but I thought you were referring to your husband!
