Just Say No

My mantra for the day is "just say no".  Yesterday was bad...cookie and candy baskets at work and I gave in to temptation.  What was I thinking? I have to fit into a very tight pair of jeans on Saturday. This is not cool!! I cannot stop at just one piece or one bite. With me it is all or nothing so today I need to stay strong! On a happier note, I am on break from school for the next three weeks. I am super excited because I feel like this is my first real break since moving this summer.  I plan…See More

Coffee and final papers

I'm not sure if there is enough coffee at my house to get me through the next two days! I have final papers due for 2 classes on Tuesday night and I have a lot left to do!! I am going to have to be very careful about my food choices because I won't be able to get my usual workouts in and I will be sitting on my butt a lot! I plan on taking breaks every 20-30 minutes and doing burpees, jumping jacks, push ups, etc. to get moving a bit and re-energize me to keep going.  I have to remember to keep…See More

Empty Nest

I have been doing ok with my eating lately. My struggle has been with cutting back on wine.  Since I moved to Alaska this summer I have noticed that I have grown increasingly fluffy despite eating decently and exercising daily.  The only thing I had been doing differently was drinking wine...every night.  It doesn't seem like much but those empty calories sure do add up! I'm trying to only drink wine on weekends or when we go out and I've done well this week.  Unfortunately I think I will…

Marriage and Wine

Posted on November 18, 2013 at 9:26am 4 Comments

Yup, that's what has been going on in my life!  Joe and I finally decided it was time to get married.  We have been together for 14+ years with a break or two thrown in.  We flew my son and his girlfriend from CT to AK for the week and he was actually able to marry us.  In AK anyone can marry you as long as they are 18. Crazy, huh?

As for the wine...I just drink too much of it!! Not in a drinking every night til I'm drunk kind of way but just that I am consuming way too many empty…

I have never done a 5K. I think it would be motivtating for working out. I have looked, but most are on Sunday mornings when I am in church. I have to keep a look out for Saturday ones.

Hi Sue, congratulations on 9 weeks that is great. I am half way through my 3rd week and I am feeling great. So much stronger already. I can't wait to see how I feel in 9 weeks. I have had results. I am down 12 lbs. but I started dieting approx 3 weeks before p90x. The weight loss with the toning is really starting to show. I am finally beginning to like the way my jeans feel. I checked out your page and it looks great. I havent' looked into the beachbody website yet but I will a when I get a little more time later this week. I have done weight watchers before and am basically just counting my calorie intake, and making health eating decisions. I hope to start running in the spring when it is nice out. I am not a fast runner but I enjoy it. How is coaching going?

Windy, congrats on the 12 pound weight loss. That's incredible! Isn't it a great feeling to be comfortable in your jeans? Don't worry about running fast. I tell my boys all the time that speed doesn't matter - it's all about getting out there and enjoying it! Can you tell I am not a very fast runner either? I don't let it get to me though because I absolutely love running and I'm glad to hear that you are going to start. You will have to let me know how it goes. The coaching is great. I am still very new to it but I am so amazed at all the information and resources that Beachbody provides me with. It's not all about selling their products but supporting their customers on their journey to health and fitness. Keep up the good work!

Hi Sue. Welcome to BTL. I am not actually sure when you joined, but I haven't come across you until now. So what is your story? Are you trying to lose, maintain, etc..? I see you started training for a half. I did my first half-marathon on May 2nd this year. It was INCREDIBLE. Up until then, I had just done 5ks. Which race are you running? Good luck! I also see you are doing p90x. I am devoted Jillian Michaels fan, but was getting so bored with the workouts. So my husband and I started p90x yesterday. I have survived 2 days. Did you finish the program? What kind of results did you see? I have 10 lbs of baby weight I need to get off, and then hope to tone like mad..especially the abs. :)

I wish I knew you when I was buying Power 90. I could have saved some money. What is your take on insanity and P90X?
At 1:23pm on October 29, 2010, Paula said…
I have am now doing my 2nd round of Power 90. It made such a change in my body it is incredible. I lost inches everywhere. It is not a difficult program and I did do some modifications, but all I can say is WOW. It is the first program that did exactly what the TV ads said. And I have tried many. Is Insanity hard on the knees?

Is Turbo Fire a program that could be adapted to a rebounder? Exactly what is Plyo?
I think I would try any program offered by Beachbody since Power 90 worked out so incredibly well. Have you ever tried Slim in 6?
