I just realized I have been on Blog to Lose for almost 5 years and I'm no better off than I was before. I am starting to feel like I am heading towards my midlife and I really need to get serious about losing this weight and getting in shape. I want to live longer than the life expectancy test I did in college. At that time,I was thin - 120 pounds but due to hereditary issues my life expectancy was forecast to be 70. That's right - 70. Cancer on my mom's side and heart disease on my…

have to tell you that one pound I lost was hard won. Time on the treadmill, weighing my food, counting all the points, tracking everything. I did have 40 weekly points left after using all of my activity points so I was hoping I would lose more but guess not. This has happened before for me - I can eat the activity points but can't eat the weekly points or I never lose. If I am on the treadmill for half an hour daily doesn't that count? I did an hour on Sunday and afterwards could…

Have you ever heard the statistic that people only gain 1 - 2 pounds over the holidays? I would love to be those people. I gained - ready for this? - 8.5 pounds! What in the world was I thinking??? I have got to do something different next year! Maybe my new plan will be to only make 2 kinds of cookies each for my husband and son. I just realized I made 10 kinds of cookies and candy this year and ate way too much of them! You know it's bad when your fat jeans are tight. Really bad! …

This cold weather is making it hard for me to want to do anything. Thank goodness for Christmas shopping and my Leslie Sanson dvds otherwise I don't think I'd ever get out the house or get any exercise. Only 10 days left to Thanksgiving and this year I'm making something for me - a green salad. I think my sister-in-laws will eat it with me so at least there shouldn't be much to toss. I only like salad with the dressing fresh on it. I'm not a fan of soggy lettuce. Anyone else have…

This year, like every other year, I have eaten my weight in chocolate. I think the best option for me is to quit buying all of the little candy bars for the trick or treaters since I eat them all and then have to buy more. This year, I am buying full size candy bars and in the exact amount I need so I can't eat them before Halloween. If I eat them, I will run out and that won't be good. Good idea? Or does anyone have a better idea?
