About Me:
Hi there! I'm a Thirty- something wife and mother of 2 boys. I'm doing Weight Watchers, on a mission to loose 30-40lbs., so far I'm down 21. I love Roni's sites! I feel I really relate to her because we're around the same age and have had much of the same struggles with weight. I've been 20-40lbs. over weight my entire life, and been on every diet under the sun, weight watchers seems to be the only one that works "long term" for me. :)
Plan of Choice:
Weight Watchers
Workout Philosophy:
I stay active doing everyday activities

Happy Happy Friday! So after seeing one of my clients get smaller and smaller doing Weight Watchers Smart Points I decided to give it a try without weighing myself. Mostly out of fear that I wouldn't like what the scale said and it would unmotivated me. Hey, it's happened more then I like to admit. Well today was the end of week 3 so I made myself get on the scale and I'm glad I did. Not weighing myself gave me this "ignorance is bliss" feeling about it. But this week I noticed my motivation… Continue

How much do I need the scale?

So I've been doing Weight Watcher Smart Points (on my own) for 3 weeks now, without weighing myself. I was gonna weigh myself on Friday, but then I realized it was the week before ahem TOM. Before when I did weight watchers I learned to skip that week of weighing because I wouldn't like what the scale said, and unfortunately the scale has the ability to ruin my whole day. So knowing this I decided to skip this week. I went to work yesterday and got my first "are you losing weight?" From one of… Continue

Smart Points, My Oldest Son turns 18, too much good/bad food!!

Posted on October 16, 2016 at 5:13pm 2 Comments

So this last week I've been trying Smart Points and so far I think I really like it. I guess we'll see if I lose weight, that will decide if I like it;) I see how it kind of forces you to make better choices, and because of WHAT I'm eating I truly haven't been hungry at all and I feel thinner. I'm not gonna weigh myself until Friday I think. But so far so good!!

So yesterday my oldest baby Jonah turned 18. It's so bittersweet watching your kids grow up. I love the age he is now and… Continue

Smart Points?

Is anyone doing the Weight Watchers Smart points plan? A few years ago when I was losing weight steadily (1.5 lbs a week) I did the old Flex Points plan, or Momentum. I did really well on that plan, I felt like I was eating like a normal person. I was trucking right along getting closer to my goal weight, I was down 25lbs. Then they changed the plan to points plus and I immediately stopped losing weight. Got unmotivated, started having pound creep, add a little autoimmune disease (Hoshimoto… Continue

Hi Melissa! THANK YOU for your comment! Do you really think it might be the calories?!?! I'm so confused! I'm eating healthier than I ever have. I'm 5'0", medium build and I weigh 131.0 lbs. (I started at 138 at the beginning of June). I want to lose about 15 more lbs. You are around my you eat around 1200 calories? Do you do 5-6 small meals or 3 big meals?!!

I just started trying to eat clean, so I'm not sure about weight loss yet.  I do know that I just feel better when I follow the rules: Eat food.  Not too much.  Mostly plants.  I'm following more of what Michael Pollan says in his book In Defense of Food and he talks about eating only foods that your great-great grandma would recognize as food.  I haven't really looked into the true eating clean diet.  I might have more information about how it's working once I've been on it a while. :)

The reason I asked your bloodtype  is because my daughter is doing a science fair project on blood type and what we eat.  It's said that certain bloodtypes can eat certain things and it makes them sluggist, stalls their metabolism, makes them prone to illness, gives weight gain etc.  Some foods are ultra good and nearly medicinal, and others are neutral.   I wondered if perhaps your blood type wasn't good for meat.  According to the chart (see link) all meat but chicken and turkey is a big no for you.  She's going to have lots of people of different blood types do lots of no foods for a week to see how they feel, then lots of the yes foods for a week and see how they feel to see if there is a correlation.  Anyhow-I can't say I know if it's a bunch of bull or not--guess I'll find out.  I'm doing my 2 weeks for her right after Tgiving.  Tell me what you think about the list:
