I Need Your Help!

Posted on June 29, 2010 at 9:54am 0 Comments

Usually I blog over at KUrunner, but I thought I would reach out to my BtL friends this time. I need new music!

Based on my current playlist, does anyone have suggestions?

6 Weeks and 10%!

Posted on March 22, 2010 at 11:49am 1 Comment

I've been home from the hospital for 6 weeks now and I'm down 21 lbs, 35 if you count the weight I lost from actually having the baby. I'm officially back in the 170s (again *sigh*) and have lost 10% of my post-baby weight.

The funny thing is, exactly a year (give a day), I had just made 10%.

March 23, 2009 (Weigh-In Week 36)

159.8!!! I'm down a total of 18.2 lbs. I made my 10% goal... finally! It took me 8 months to do it, but I did it. This…

A really good deal on HRMs

Posted on March 20, 2010 at 10:37am 1 Comment

I just wanted to let you all know that Woot is having an AMAZING deal on heart rate monitors today. They have a monitor with chest strap for $30. I think I paid something like $100 for my last one. If you are interested:

http://www.woot.com/

I know this post sounds completely like spam, but I just wanted to share the deal. ;)

Can someone carry me up the stairs?

P90X... LOVE IT!

I just finished Day 2, and I have to say this is definitely the best workout DVD I've ever tried. In fact, it's probably one of the best workouts I've had ever. You can read my detailed review at my blog: http://kurunner.wordpress.com.

If you've seen the infomercials and are on the fence about it, do it!

Thanks for the comment, and welcome to BTL! I got excited when I saw your name of KUrunner, because I am a graduate of the University of Kansas (KU) and still live in Lawrence, but then I saw you live in VA. So maybe KU doesn't stand for what I originally thought...?

Thanks for your comments re: calories vs. points. In the end, I've converted to calories. It's in a language I can understand. And I don't always need my points calculator.

That's a good idea. I did calibrate it, but that was when I first got it. Maybe it's time to recalibrate it. When I first did it I was outside running on a track...I hear that's totally different from running on the treadmill...plus it tracks different if you walk or run right? I'll play with it tomorrow before my run to see if I can get it working a little more accurately.

Hmmmm. Coffee flavored Reeses eggs... That actually doesn't sound bad. Without the can step, of course. It's ok, now you know! I saw those little boogers on sale today at Krogers and thought of you. I'll have to deal with them at Easter. Mom gets them for our baskets. ( Yup, almost 30 and I STILL get a basket! )

So... i read in today's blog that you're a cancer survivor? Do you mind if I ask you what kind? I am a 1 1/2 year breast cancer survivor.

The new DVD (Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism) is awesome. It's full of new tough love from Jillian. It's all cardio and no weights, but will really kick your butt. There's some kick boxing mixed in and there's only about 7 minutes of jumping moves (as opposed to 30DS, which is basically entirely jumps). I like it because it's a bit longer, isn't as hard on my knees, and is a great way to really get my heart going. For me, running gets hard when my cardiovascular system gets worn out, so I'm working on finding ways to strengthen it - this DVD is gonna do the trick.

I agree...us cancer survivors need to stick together.!! : )
So, the inevitable question...what stage/grade of breast cancer were you first diagnosed with. I guess I will probably always worry that it will come back somewhere else.

I am SO happy that you are cancer-free now and I'll continue to keep you in my prayers for the future!

Hmmm... I was stage 0/grade 3. So also found very early. Mastectomy but no chemo/radiation....and also not on tamoxifen or anything (by my choice). I still sometimes 2nd-guess my decision on that. But the drug itself increases your chances of ovarian cancer by a huge amount...so I felt I was just trading one cancer for another (know what I mean)? It's still scarey that yours spread...
