Hello all! 

Im an overweight girl and have been most of my life! Im very tall, so I think I carry it pretty well! Buuuut...doesnt mean I dont want to get rid of it and look better in a pair of jeans.  I probably could afford to lose more...but Im setting out for 60 at the moment. Ive tried all different things... but the thing is... I feel if I really want it... I can have it...and Im working on my will power. So if anyone can relate... please share!! Im completely fine throughout the day... eating smaller portions, drinking tons of water... my weakness is ... AT NIGHT! when little miss is in bed and its mama time. Im hanging out on the couch catching up on shows or crafting... snacks are usually in my hand! Horrible!

Welcome, Jessica! I think you will find that this is a great, supportive environment with people at all different stages. It is refreshing to talk to people that have been through (or are currently going through) the same things as you. My best suggestion is to make a blog post introducing yourself and your goals. Then just think of it as a way to document your journey. The more you blog, the more support you will get. I also encourage you to read through some of the other posts to see if you find someone you have things in common with.

Thank you for the kind comment. Things here are going well. I leave tomorrow to go see my family in TX for a week. Definitely harder to keep on track when I am outside of my normal environment. My strategy is to eat my normal choices for breakfast and lunch, and a smaller portion of whatever everyone is having for dinner. I also get in a workout when I can. My mantra is "I can have whatever I want. I just can't have it all" I have to decide what it is that I really want, because I can't indulge in everything offered.

One thing that really helped me stay committed this time was having a buddy do it with me. I am super competitive and I knew that we would be weighing in each week (at Weight Watchers) and I didn't want her to beat me. Haha. That got me through the first hard weeks and then once I started seeing results it was addictive. I was a size 18 at my highest (after I had my son) and now I am a size 6 in most things. This is the first time in my entire life I have worn single digits.I also found that after many, many grueling months of hating the gym that I am so in love with the way it makes me feel now. Take it one day at a time.

I guess being competitive has its perks! :)  I can see how that would be a big push for you! Thank you for the advise!! I really need to get to excersising and making it habit! Actually going to the gym may be a little rough for me... Im a single working mom... so finding the time or sitter may be a little difficult.  But id like to maybe try different things at home or on my own. My daughter and I love to walk! Have a good trip!! :)
