Your opinions of "Before" and "After" pictures

Posted on October 6, 2010 at 12:25pm 4 Comments

Do you like it more when a person puts before and after pictures on their page? I personally like it and find it very inspiring to see people's progression. They are the pages I read and interact more often with. I sort of understand that some people wouldn't be comfortable putting "fat" before pictures up but then again why would you have a public blog if you didn't want to somewhat expose your weight problem.

I don't have my "after"…

  3. Got a full time job

I made some really great strides this week! I made conscious decisions about my food, like having a slice of pizza this week but combining it with salad so as to not go overboard. I really made an effort…

"Believe It, Be It" Book Review

Posted on September 14, 2010 at 3:30pm 0 Comments

I wanted to do a quick review of Ali Vincent's book (she was the first female winner of The Biggest Loser tv show). Her mantra to get her through the competition was "Believe it, be it" hence the title of the book. A great american novel this is not, but that wasn't the point of her story. This is definately a book that is more about inspiration to reach not only your physical but life goals as well. I have read many a diet books so it was refreshing to read the tale of…

The Breakfast Conundrum

Posted on September 6, 2010 at 10:19pm 1 Comment

I hate eggs. I’ve tried them sooo many times since reading my first diet book when I was 18 (it was the “South Beach Diet” book and I weighed 130 at the time haha silly girl). Eggs have since been recommended by almost every diet book I’ve read since.…

2 Years on Blog to Lose

Posted on August 15, 2010 at 11:31pm 1 Comment

Im posting more often (like once a week) in an effort to keep myself more accountable. Even if it's just a few sentences I think it will be good for me. I've been on Blog to Lose for 2 years and have lost and gained the same 17 pounds. I think this happens for a lot of people with gaining and losing and gaining . I do know that it doesn't have to be like this either. There are people who reach their goal weights and maintain them, for years in fact. They tend to be the…

"Wow, that was a really fascinating post. It's scary to think that even when the weight is gone the unhappiness can remain. I'm glad you are finding your happiness (devoid of what the scale says) in this new chapter of your life!"

Im loving P90X so far. Its hard and time consuming, but a great workout. I bought it new online for only $55. You can buy them used for a good deal too. Just make sure it comes with all the DVD,s and the nutrition plan when you buy it. There are a lot of knock offs going around. I think mine was a knock off....but it had everything that it was supposed to have in the kit so I was Ok with it. I spent a lot getting weights, a mat, bands, a pull up bar and a weight to get started. It was worth it though. Im not paying for a gym membership anymore so its fine. Anyways, I will post before and after pics so you can see the difference.....hopefully!

It's so funny you should mention that about the birth control... I've only been on it a week and I've noticed many side effects. I wasn't sure if they were from the BC or not so I googled the reviews of this particular birth control, and I read review after review of many people having the same symptoms, including depression! I am not taking another pill... thanks for your advice!

Hi Jackie. I'm following the macro eating plan outlined in Wendy Chant's book "Crack the fat loss code." You eat 4-6 times a day to rev up your metabolism and manipulate when you eat carbs to keep your body from hitting a plateau.

The BodyBugg is worth every last cent. I can not give it enough praise. You will absolutely adore it. The one catch is you have to be willing to log your food on their website every day in order to see the numbers.

Jackie...so far (after only 1 week) I TOTALLY LOVE the BodyBugg. Like Elaine says, in order for it to work you have to be religious about logging every little thing you eat! Just seeing it all in black and white is very motivating. You can SEE that you aren't as active one day compared to another etc...and it motivates you to get up off the couch and burn some extra calories to see that "deficit" goal met!

I totally agree! When I finished my first 1/2 I just couldn't believe it - I felt so powerful. I am really looking forward to beating my PB and having that sense of accomplishment again!!!
