About Me:
I am 39 year old married mom of a wonderful 8 year old son! I am 5'3" and am the definition of a yo-yo dieter. I just realized at 35 that I can not be on a diet. I have to try to have some type of control over my eating, make healthy choices and exercise for the rest of my life. I have done almost every weight loss plan known to man: nutri-system, the grapefruit diet, low carb, hypnotherapy, weight watchers, etc. Weight Watchers is my go to plan of choice but I sure wish I had all of that money back!!! I do like to exercise. I love boot camp and interval training. I have completed 18 half marathons and 1 full marathon. I do not love running but I do love the feeling of finishing and having an amazing meal. My greatest goal is to stop this game of losing 10-20 pounds and gaining 10-20 pounds every few months. I want to learn to maintain. I so look forward to sharing ideas and getting inspiration. Weight loss can be such a lonely journey and I look forward to making connections, offering support and learning to be the best I can be.

I have been out of the loop the past couple of weeks due to travel for work and being busy once I got back to work.  I had a great trip to Phoenix.  It was gorgeous weather.  Got in a run on the treadmill and a one hour hike on Camelback Mountain.  Very cool.  I didn't do terrible with eating but not great either.  I gained 2 pounds while I was gone.  I came back and tried to cut back this week and lost the 2 pounds.  I have 2 weeks until the Shamrock 1/2 marathon in Virginia Beach.  I feel…

Mid-Week

This time next week I will be in Phoenix, Arizona for week.  I leave next Tuesday and return on Friday.  I am very excited I have never been to that part of the country.  I am hoping to be able to go hiking for a couple of hours one day.  I am going to think through a food plan for traveling.  I think that really helped me during my last trip at the end of January.  I did oatmeal most mornings, found a subway for lunch and tried to be sensible for dinner.  I will be traveling with people who…

That is the amount lost since January 2, 2012.  Technically I have been claiming 7 of that since I gained 7 in 2 weeks over Christmas.  Anyway, whichever way you look at it - I am happy.  Clothes are fitting better and someone even noticed the other day - gotta love the "first notice".  I am glad.   I am making better choices.

Not perfect but I got it on paper!

I did resist the chocolate peanut butter cups today but I ate a pack of cheese crackers late afternoon.  Forgot a snack.  

I need to take some time this weekend to think about my entire day.  I made some great meals this week but did not think about snacks and I have not eaten veggies other than those in a main dish.  Gotta get in more fruit and veggies.  I can't keep using the excuse of being tired.  I will make sure I get out my pencil…

Committing to the Details

So it has been a successful 5 weeks since the beginning of the year.  I lost 2 more pounds last week which is great.  But, ever since my Seattle trip I have not been journaling.  My goal was to get back to it this week and it is Tuesday night and I have not written anything down...this is the beginning of the back slide.  I survived it for two weeks but I can feel it catching up.  I was so hungry all day.  I packed lunch and snacks but gave into a few mini peanut butter cups and I think that…

I can so relate to your bio. I was a professional dieter for many years. In a sick sort of way, it became my hobby. I couldn't wait to find a new plan to experiment with. I became a walking laboratory, but the problem was that it was draining me emotionally and physically.

I am so happy to say that I now maintain my weight effortlessly, and the reason that I got to this point is that I took care of the "why" I was eating instead of the "what." Ironically, I am now a weight loss coach, and I help women every day stop struggling with their bodies and find peace around food. I eat whatever I want, and I no longer obsess over it. Trust me, I never thought I would say those words.

One of my goals this summer is to fit into a smaller corset and then buy a real one. They are expensive so getting as small as I can is crucial before buying...not that I have unrealistic expectations about how small I can get by fall...but they only adjust about 4 sizes!!!...I'll post those pics when they are taken!! Wish me luck!

AH yes ice! I asked an othropeadic guy today and he said ice always. My feet begsn to hurt an hour ago, and I immediately put ice on it. THe pain went away almost immediately! I feel like i"ve been given a magic cure. I am still going to take a beak from working out until next week though. Thanks for the help and words of encouragement!
