Cindy said… I was hoping to see you on here sharing the experience with Eat To Live. I've recently re-read this book and am tinkering with the idea of trying to do this program.
I am glad to see you here. You are inspiring me to jump into Eat To Live! I am such a carb person and do like my pasta and lefse. Do you feel it is an all or nothing deal? Do you think you'll make concessions on certain items like cereals or granola?
Thanks for sharing. I like the Eat 2 Live approach. Do you bother to count calories or points? I know the book says not to even bother, but I was just wondering. I read Dr McDougall's book too and the only difference I see is Dr. Fuhrman's is the amount of fruit. Dr F says 4 servings & Dr McD says less fruit for weight loss. I have tried Walden Farms dressing since they are fat free, calorie free, carbs, sugars or gluten. I think they taste great. I've not tried all, but what I have I've liked. Is it hard to go out to eat? Sometimes my husband likes to go have breakfast on the weekends, but the places around here don't offer much for breakfast.
Hi Dawn, I was wondering what you have for breakfasts. My typical lately has been a banana, 1 tablespoon peanut butter, and fruit. Last week it was blueberries. This week looks to be blackberries.
Thanks for getting back to me on the breakfast ideas. What's your take on fresh ground nut butters? I was wondering if that is an ETL option. I've been having a tablespoon with my banana in the mornings lately. I am trying to incorporate the ideas in his book. I also like Dr. McDougall since he is into low/no fat. I've made a raw granola recipe and have that for breakfast. What do you think of it?
I know what you mean about nut butters. Do you think 1 tablespoon a day with breakfast is too much? I opt for fresh ground peanut butter from my local Mennonite bulk store. I did try Earth Balance Almond butter. It is vegan and it was fantastic! I just love nut butter on my banana in the morning. It is so nice to have someone who shares a vegetarian diet. Sometimes I just feel alone when it comes to this diet. But like Dr. F said in his book, he didn't really think all of America would embrace these ideas.
Thanks for the feed back on nut butters. I really like them. I use a fresh ground peanut butter from a bulk food store that I like. I use 1 tablespoon per day if I am eating bananas for breakfast or a snack. I would love to try cashew butter but it is expensive. Is there one you recommend? Or do you just make your own? I wish the stores sold small trial sizes so I could determine if I like the taste before shelling out $11 + for a jar. : + )
Here is a site I found for good veggie recipes that even my non-veggie husband has enjoyed. http://peasandthankyou.com/
Just wanted to stop in and see how Eat To Live is going. I found this site and Carrie is a serious ETL and just recently met Dr. F. Check it out

I did pretty good today. Slipped with a molasses cookie this evening, the last one in the house. Otherwise, I'd say I'm doing good.
Had a blended salad for lunch. Man did it look horrible. Let's just say it was the vulgar color of baby excrement! I blended carrot juice, spinach and mushrooms (had to get my GBOMBS in for the day). I was surprised that is was not as revolting as it looked. I might add some different veggies for flavor, like onions or avocados for creaminess. But…

I know it's been a while since I've been on BTL. I've been busy with school and work. Social networking, blogging, etc has taken a back burner. I continue to roughly follow Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live plan but I honestly fail more than I succeed.
I found a great variation on French Onion Soup I tried this week (sans the cheese and bread). ETL gets tiresome if you eat salads all the time so I try to find other veggie alternatives:
1 Tbsp oil
3 medium-large onions,…

I woke up this morning determined that I was just too curious. I had to know: What did I weigh? Have I at least maintained? That set back in July had me worried and I needed to know where I stood with that mechanical nemesis in the corner.
Stepped on and I'm at least a pound less than I was before I fell off the wagon! That's big considering I had elephant ankles for almost 2 weeks afterwards and have been struggling to stay on the path consistently. What a good way to start the…

Another couple of weeks, still chugging along. I've done super well the last couple of days, but admittedly those weekends are a struggle. My family are not my friends when it comes to lifestyle changes. Whoa baby. I've resigned myself to occasional slip ups until I can find some tasty recipes. I like salads, but lord knows I cannot live on them as my primary source of nutrition.
I'm learning more about ETL. Saw a program on PBS and have some new buzz words. G-Bombs will now…
