PB & J steel cut oats for Breakfast....

Okay - so the points are pretty hearty for a breakfast - but it's filling and it tastes delightful!

1/4 cup dry steel cut oats (I prepped mine stovetop and let them cook for 20 minutes) - yields about 1/2 cup (a little more maybe) fully cooked.

1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter

1 tablespoon of strawberry preserves

8 points for breakfast - but it will keep you really full, no need for the mid-morning snack. You'll be hungry just in time for…

At the very least, weight loss blogging gives me something to do with my hands OTHER than shove food in my mouth.  I've been off the grid for a bit since I decided that putting all my lost weight back on (thats 25 entire pounds....) would be a great idea...



With that being said - i decided to start my own "true blog" on a wordpress platform etc... So I'm working on porting over all my past blogs from here - to The Butter…

Shape Shiftin'

My shape is changing, the scale is not.  That's OK. I feel awesome!

 

Yesterday, on my way to my gym studio I realized that I don't even think about working out anymore.

I mean now its just such a part of my routine, my life and my friendships that I don't have to make…

Oops.

 

When did this happen? I jumped on the scale and I've gained most of what I had successfully lost.  I'm leaving for vacation on Wednesday, and just thought I would hop on the scale and see where I am - since i have been working (not successfully though) on intuitive eating.

 

Well shit, I'm back up to 225.0. SOB.



That's all I can do is swear a lot and be really mad at myself.  Obviously nobody to blame but myself.  I know what works and…

In the past I have set some fairly unrealistic goals for myself.... so now I'm setting just a couple easy ones and I'll add more as I achieve...

Goals:
1. Lose 5% of my body weight - 11.5 pounds Achieved on 1/18/11

2. Find an exercise that I love Achieved on 2/24/11
3. Lower my sodium intake
4. Walk the dog daily (even if it's a short one!)

I'm fun.... very fun! I love life, I like to do stuff, anything, I can pretty much be talked into having a great time always! I'm extremely prone to peer pressure of any kind, bad eating or good exercising...

I own my own website design business, I work at home, I'm self-employed... have a monster of a dog (no kids right now!), I'm in a kind and loving relationship and we just celebrated 3 years together.

I've set myself up to have a pretty cushy and ideal lifestyle straight out of college and my biggest hurdle (the only one left anyway...) is weight loss.

Thanks for the advice! I think I am going to go with it. My mom and I talked about which restuarant to go to. So I am pretty sure I have made up my mind how I am going to do it. I am still going to have my queso, but I am going to limit how much I eat, plus I am going to have fish with veggies for my main meal. It already sounds good! :) I reallyl appreciate the comment. I remembered to take the book out of my garage and I was skimming through it and I can't wait to try a couple of things. I also have another WW cookbook, so if there's anything good in there, I'll let you know! I think the toughest part for me is finding new foods and good recipes. So the more the merrier! I ordered a low-glycemic cookbook too and I just got that in the mail today, and some of the stuff in there looks amazing. They would probably score really low points on the WW system. I will get you those recipes tonight after I get home from class! Hope you're having a great week!

The Wii Fit is awesome! At first you feel a little awkward, but you get over it cuz it's so much fun! At first the balance games were my favorite, just because they were pretty much all I could do. But then I found step aerobic and boxing. Then I tried the strengh training and yoga, which are great! Next I want to try this new EA Active. Not sure what it's all about, but I am hearing great things about it.

I have those recipes for you, but I am trying to figure out the best way to get them to you. I think I will just send you a message with them until I can find a good way to post them on BTL.

Yeah, my hubby loves the chimichungas. Everyone who tries them asks for the recipe. So enjoy! The jumbalaya is great, but I found it a little bland, so if you like spicy, then add more cayenne pepper to it. I'm excited to try a few new recipes this weekend. My first opportunity will be Saturday. But we're having our "martini night" to celebrate the end of the quarter...wonder how well that's going to go over with this new lifestyle!

Hi Cindy - Just wanted to say that I enjoy reading your blogs and I have a lot of similar feelings as you - it's so nice to know that other people feel the same way. My husband is super lean and in shape and it is so hard to deal with the daily embarassment that I am not, that I can't be who I want to be for him. But that is all going to change!!! You can do this! Have a great weekend - and enjoy that chicken and salad at the BBQ :0)
