Weight-Loss Ticker and Goals




WHAT WENT RIGHT IN 2008?
• I finally hit the 50-pounds-lost mark.
• Attended WW meetings regularly.
• Fit back into a size 12.
• Settled on a mantra that works pretty well for me: "One day — one choice — at a time."
• Started tracking what I eat more consistently.
• My blog has developed quite the following. :D
WHAT STILL NEEDS TO CHANGE?
• I don't get in all my water consistently.
• More movement — I don't exercise as much as I should.
• I tend to forget to take my daily multivitamin.

WHAT I WANT TO CONTINUE IN 2009
• Exercising (I'm thinking about checking into the cost of Curves.)
• Tracking every bite, every day (It's when I don't write it down that I get off track.)
• Losing weight (I want to get to my WW goal weight by June 1 — or sooner!)
WHAT I WANT TO CHANGE
• Letting the Boyfriend influence my food choices (This is the biggie!)
• Eating so much fast food
• My clothing size (I want to fit back into my size 8 jeans!)
• Weight (WW goal is 170 ... personal goal 160)
WHAT I WANT TO IMPROVE ON
• Getting in eight 8-ounce glasses of water (or sugar-free flavored water) a day
• Exercising consistently (I especially need to focus on strength work. I'm not bad at the cardio requirement already. But I need to move more all around. Some weeks I'm good at working out regularly, and others I'm really very lazy.)

About Me:
Arlene is an Arizona journalist who has had to battle with her weight since about fifth grade. She lost 105 pounds in two years on Atkins, but regained about 70 of those pounds after meeting her boyfriend, a carb freak. She joined WW in August 2007 and has lost 61 pounds since then. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

WW start weight: 245.6
Current weight: 184.8 (as of Sept. 9, 2009)
WW goal weight: 170
Personal goal 160-ish

"Hey I eat green pepper slices and sliced cucumbers sometimes for my breakfast or early morning snack!! So yes, lettuce or spinach on a breakfast sandwich sounds good to me. I am wanting to try those hashbrowns too."

Just saw I'm one of the Subway breakfast giveaway winners. Woo-hoo! Can't wait to get my loot so I can give it a try.



Things are going along ... CarbLovers seems to be like any other diet at the moment: Some days I stick to it great; others are a struggle. Last time I got on the scale, I was down a total of about 4 pounds, but that's with several "off" days.

I'm calling my first day on the CarbLovers Diet a success. The food was tasty and filling, and I ate only 26 Points without craving snacks.

Surprisingly — or not — I'm not going to go back to Atkins. I'm also not exactly going to continue with WW.



No, I've decided to spend a month tracking and counting Points while I follow the Health magazine editors' new CarbLovers Diet. I read the magazine article about the diet before I left on vacation, and stopped at Barnes & Noble to look through the book this morning. I liked what I saw.

Aha, thank you! I wasn't sure if you were able to make that "profile" box expand into several different sections, i.e. the ticker AND the photos. But I guess the photos are a thing of their own. I appreciate your help!

I can't sing the praises of c25k loudly enough, and because it changes every week, you aren't getting bored. The main thing I told myself is there is no reason I can't do it! "it's only 60 seconds, its only 90 seconds, I already did that, it's only another minute..." etc. My best advice is to GO SLOWLY (you should be able to converse) and be consistent. Before you know it, you'll be running that 20 in week 5!! :)

I'll have to look into finding class in my area, that sounds like a lot of fun. Yes my puppy is very cute when he isn't being a bad boy. More often then not he's doing something he shouldn't be!

Just a quickie comment: Yes, Weight Watchers has a few new smoothie flavors, I think one of the other ones is Orange Creamsicle (EW, but that's just me!) and the Caramel latte one is pretty good. I keep meaning to mix it with my morning coffee and some ice and make myself a frap, but I keep forgetting, and I don't drink caffiene at night, unless I want to not sleep.
