What are your goals? Any specific races you are aiming for?

My goal is to work myself up to running a 10km and hopefully a half marathon in the next year. Thinking about aiming for the Flying Pig in Cinncinnati. The longest race I've done is an 8km trail run…Continue

So since it seems a few of us are keen on running I thought it would be a good idea to start a group. I am currently returning to running after a maternity leave and then a sprained ankle. I am currently running 4 minute intervals with 2 minute walk breaks. I am doing my runs indoors on a treadmill but hope to get back outside again soon. I have logged approximately 60miles in the past 2 months and hope to up the distance gradually over time. My goal would be to run a 10 km or maybe even a half marathon in the next year.

So really thinking about doing the Flying Pig half marathon next May. I posted on my blog that it would be cool if a few of us could do the race. It's in Cinncinnati so not sure if that is a good place for people. It's about 8 hours driving for me but looks like a great race. Let me know if you're interested. I figure I also should sign up for some 5km and 10km runs as shorter term goals.

Whoooo! Winding down from a 2 1/2 mile run with an average speed of 5.35 mph. Or 11 minute 24 second miles. First time out in 3 months... I'm pretty proud of myself.

That's awesome!! My speed is much slower than that!!

So I'm back to my running program since my injury. I'm not doing as well this time as I did the first time. I'm only up to 3/1 intervals and it's hard as anything. I can't believe how fast you lose cardio capacity. I'm going to stick with it since I've signed up for a 5k in October.

Yeah Julsbake!!! Glad to hear you are back to it. I was stuck at 3 minute intervals for what seemed an eternity but have done 4 minute intervals and am planning to start 5 minute intervals tomorrow. Keep us posted on your progress!!

My goal is to get back into the running groove.  I successfully completed the Couch-to-5K program last year and ran 2 5K races this year.  But I have been seriously slacking off for the past few months.  I have re-started C25K and am in Week 3.  I am looking to get myself back in shape and prepare for another 5K and a 10K next year.

Yeah Jenny!! I'm just back to running recently too so hopefully we can support each other. I am doing 6 minute intervals this week with a 2 minute walk break. It's a long haul to get back to where I was before my pregnancy. Keep us posted on your progress!!

I am new to the group and have always wanted to be a runner- now is the time!  I am just beginning and am starting a modified C to 5K plan...doing 1 minute on and 2 walking.  So far, so good.  Alternating treadmill and outdoors, depending on the weather.  Psyched to be in the group.
