Has anyone ever experimented with spaghetti squash? How does it taste? Any good recipes? I'm looking to try this.

Ive used as speggetti noodles then make your sauce and add ground turkey. Even the kids loved it

I bake it in the oven with a little water at the bottom of the pan.  Then You can use it however you like.  A little coocnut oil and pepper or, something saucy like Becky said.  It's pretty versatile!

I've tried to make it, but, I think I expected too much--like I expected it would be a pasta twin.  I think if I had done half & half with spaghetti, I would have really liked it, but, to JUST have it as pasta, it doesn't cut it.

Someone made me the lasagna with that stuff in it, and it doesn't matter then because of all of the cheese and junk in there--but that's not very low-cal.

Did you make it Demara?  I'm wondering how you liked it?

I don't have a car so I've only been to Farmer's Markets (One I can walk to and the other happened to drive by on the way to somewhere else) so I have to get to a grocery store to try it but I'll definitely update when I can get to it!

I'm with Keem on this one.  It is NOT pasta.  If I want to have spaghetti, I find that I prefer to mix steamed veggies into a half size serving of noodles and a big old serving of sauce.  I like zucchini cut up into matchsticks and some broccoli broken up small.  For me it was less work and a lot more flavor.

I love spaghetti squash and use it as a mashed potato substitute. I just cut it in half, remove the pulp and seeds, and bake it skin-side up for 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the size. After that, I just add salt, pepper, and a little butter. I've never tried it as a pasta substitute, just as a side item with my protein.

That sounds like a great idea. I really need to get a couple to try out all of these great ideas!
